Dmitri raises his head and looks at one of the force-field generators that bind him securely in place.

"Need to see how the mechanism works."

Dmitri blinks his eyes, switching their active operation to Mode C IR/Long λ, infra-red and long wavelength light sensitivity.

"Ahhh, there it is!" he exults silently, his thoughts racing as he spots the power coupling inside the device by its heat signature.

"Eric should be on his way by now," Dmitri smiles, "Time for me to be leaving!"
