I have a question for all of you! Patreon now offers the option for what they call "subscription billing". In a nutshell, what this means is that new subscribers are charged immediately and then once each month *on the day they subscribed*. The way it currently works is that everyone is charged when they sign up and then on the first of every month, even if they just signed a couple of days before.

I have always *really disliked* the way the current billing works, but it's a little scary because this change would be *permanent*.

If I decide to change to subscription billing, it will have no effect on any of you, my current patrons, unless your subscription expires and you decide to re-subscribe - then when you sign-up again, renewal would happen on that same new day each month.

I think it's the best option currently available - and I am leaning heavily towards making the switch. I wanted to give all of you, my devoted loyal patrons, an opportunity to voice your concerns, if any. So, leave any comments you may have below, or message me - and let's see what everyone thinks!

I think it has more to do with what YOU want. It wouldn't have an immediate impact but presumably over time your revenue stream will begin trickling in throughout the month instead of a lump sum each month.

I would still get paid once a month, so it would not look very different from my perspective - except that I would not have people surprised and upset that they got charged *again* after only a few days. Thanks for your concern however!

I'm good with the subscription billing. However I do have questions. As of right now my subscription never really expires it just continues to bill me every month. Would I now have a renewal date? What if I forget to renew, would my date change?

As I understand it, nothing would change unless you cancelled and came back. You'll continue to be billed automatically on the first day of the month. Let's say that you decide to cancel the subscription for a few months for whatever reason (gonna climb to the top of Everest, no internet for 3 months). Anyway, when you renewed, the billing day would be whatever day you signed back up for. You'd be considered (by Patreon's billing service) as a new subscription. So, if you signed up today, for example, you would be automatically charged on the 26th of each month going forward. What I *wish* Patreon would do, is allow us to keep charging on the first of the month and then pro-rate the amount if someone signs up mid-month. I fail to see why this seems to be so hard, but I don't have any control of the way Patreon conducts billing. Actually, that's a good thing too, so I don't have to spend a lotta time trying to figure out how to do internet transactions and alla that stuff.

Thank you. I understand. Lol, loved the Everest example. Hahaha I would need to be one of your super strong guys to do that. 🤣 Anyway I'm good with the subscription billing, I don't plan on going anywhere. You're stuck with me. Lol. Glad you are well.
