Sounds effects are something I've always wanted to add to my videos, but also represent one of the hardest fields for me to break into. Good 'growthy' sounds are almost impossible to come by and many creators actually create their own sounds from scratch!

Haven't had any success in that department yet, but I did manage to put together this very simple test video with some stuff I scrounged off the internet. Give it a listen and let me know what you think.

Do note that I will not be adding audio to my videos until I reach a standard I can be satisfied with (this test video doesn't count). The experiments continue!

Not a bad start at all! The groaning sounds themselves sound pretty on point (not like a balloon like I hear in some other videos). I suggest you might want to play around with the pitch and volume a little, as he gets larger, the pitch of the groaning gets lower and the volume rises gently. The heartbeat could also be a nice addition indeed, but maybe it should only fade in as he gets larger later on. Hope that helps!

Damn. That was actually really good. You would be surprised by how versatile crumbling paper sounds can be. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oePl6X__SJ8&amp;t=30" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oePl6X__SJ8&amp;t=30</a> Rumbling base sounds, like an earthquake, also do a good job in demonstrating enormity. Hope to see more!

Good stuff! I'm liking the new model.

I personally love morphs with sounds, but I also get that sounds can be hard to get right. Don't be afraid to play with the sounds on a basic wave-form level. Experiment with pitch, tempo, EQ, all of that. Add some trippy echo effects and you might get a whole new sound if you skew the parameters right. You know that glitchy robot sound on Cher's vocal in "Believe"? That was a studio accident that came from setting Auto-Tune levels higher than they should go. So look at the sounds as a way to experiment!

Johnny G. isn't wrong there at all. Only thing I'm on the fence about personally is the heart-beat. One one side I love it being there, and the other hand I don't. Those are great for when you're getting an inside look at a character's perspective, but on anything 3rd person it doesn't make sense to hear it. BUT the rest of the growthy sound is NICE. I find the more "stretching leather" type of sounds very nice and among the best for growth based videos with sound. The ones I don't like personally are when it's obvious rubber balloons being rubbed and styrofoam being handled (I mean unless it's a rubber/latex suit that is). Nice Work.

Funnily enough, the heartbeat was actually supposed to increase in volume as he got larger and then taper off as his growth slowed. I just looked at the working file and... it seems I simply never set the values right. But yes I do agree with the need to play around with pitch. The experiments continue!

Hey thanks very much for the sound sample! This should help point me in the generally right way to start. I'll likely see what I end up with tweaking paper crushing/ripping sounds.

superwaffle

By any chance, do you have any samples of the trippy echo effects you referenced?

superwaffle

Do you have any samples of stretching leather type sounds? I did check up on a few but they never really 'felt' growthy. Sometimes I feel like the sounds were created by someone rubbing a microphone on a leather belt (I tried that the other day, wasn't too good).

Just wanted to say that this might be my favourite muscle growth video of yours as the subject was really my type. (I prefer more mature looking dudes, maybe bald/bearded, a healthy dose of body hair. Thanks!)
