SilverGaze controls a characters head and neck using spring forces that approximate muscle movements.  This approach gets around some physics wonkiness that can result form applying too much torque to the head when the character is suspended (a la SilverRoper) or when multiple upper body controllers are disabled.  Put another way, it works even when the head is turned off!

It includes some other fanciness as well.  The look motions are designed to, hopefully, look realistic by adding some random variations and having the character periodically move to follow a target, rather than always moving continuously.  It is also possible to select multiple targets which the character will randomly switch between.  I recommend using this in conjunction with AcidBubbles' Glance, which handles eye motions extraordinarily well.
