OPR Hangout Stream - February 21st

On the last week of every month, we're running an OPR Hangout stream over on YouTube, where we showcase upcoming releases, sneak peeks at future content, and have a Q&A session for you to get involved.

This is a relaxed stream, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at our creation process whilst chatting a bit and having some fun. The next stream is going to be on February 21st at 20:00 GMT / 15:00 EST / 12:00 PST.

3D Print - Print Survey, New Previews, Delay Updates

Last week we ran a small survey to get people's sentiment on some 3D printing related questions, and we thought we'd let you know how it went a bit.

There were 3 main things we wanted to understand: how many people print models in pieces, how many people use un-supported models, and finally how many people would be interested in us opening a tribes.

Here's the result:

  • 25% print models in pieces
  • 7% print unsupported models
  • 29% are interested in tribes

The purpose of this survey was to understand what people are actually using, because providing all of these options carries a significant cost in terms of time, money, space, uploads, etc. which could be better spent focusing on the things that the majority of people actually use.

With these results, it's not very easy to justify us making any major changes, so we're not planning to shift things right now. We'd like to thank you all for participating in this survey, and hope you stick around until the next one! :)

At the top of this post you can see previews of some of the models that will be released in March, with the the Sisters Priestess, Pistoleers, and Ogran Tank, as well as the Ratmen Ogre Captain and God-Titan. Please remember that these are early WIP shots of the models, and not the final versions of the models.

Just a quick update on the February delays, this week we've uploaded the Sisters Novice Superior, Lust Area Terrain, and Lust Scatter Terrain on MMF, so you can grab them now. With this, all of the February models have been fully delivered. Apologies for the delays!

Also a small update on the January delays, this week we've uploaded the Lust Daemons Medium Terrain on MMF, so you can grab it now. With this, all of the January models have been fully delivered. Apologies for the delays!

That's it for this week, happy wargaming!

Do you plan future fleet release for New warfleet ?

Emma Marx

Pleasseeee leave pieces as an option 🥺 I like being able to pose and change weapons on my lil dudes. Also I love the incoming models :))) very very cool 😎

Lucas Upright

That rendering of the battle sister is amazing.

Ne Obliviscaris

This is all awesome! However, I have to be honest, not feeling the feathered wings on the jetpacks; imo having them look more like an actual aircraft wing or mechanical wing would look much better.

Evilstans

I don't know if it's meant to be a scream or what ever, but that sister looks like is going "holy Sh*t" at the mace. Or maybe at what's about to squish her

killinusoftly715

keep pieces for sure the upcoming sisters release in march is amazing

Andrew Parsons

I am so in the fence about Tribes. Pros - it's right there in MMF which is where I prefer to download. Great. - updates are in the dedicated section for your Tribe. Great. Cons - I never seem to be able to find updates easily on the few Tribes I have. Boo. - You don't have a single feed of all Tribe action (as far as I can see). Might not matter for the creator, but for the customer who has many subs, it's a Boo. Some examples: 1. I just switched my Dice Heads over from Patreon to MMF Tribe. Here on Patreon, I would see the monthly post, them talking about the models, etc, and then I could either download direct, or just wait until the models appeared in MMF. On MMF, I don't even go the main Tribes page. I go to my Library, and look in the My Tribes folder and see that they have uploaded new files. I then SOMETIMES go to the Tribe from there and read up on what's happening, but I don't ever go to each individual tribe page to see updates. And because the files area doesn't have the easy richness of all the posts and interactions from other subscribers (LIKE THIS POST), I have become a blind customer, just downloading the models. As a result, I have "followed" Dice Heads here on Patreon so I can still get that but I can't then engage with the others commenting on posts or doing the polls. I'd have to then go over to MMF, go to My Tribes in Files (because I have no idea whow else to get there), then click on the Tribe link and find the poll. Super clunky. 2. I've been a long time subscriber of Archvillain Games fantasy here on Patreon. I love their posts and their community. I signed up for their sci fi releases as MMF Tribe. The only way I know what's going on is because I see the posts here on Patreon, but I can't read the sci fi ones - I just see them here. Oh, and I just discovered it's an extra couple of clicks to make a comment on a post on Tribes. Another ding against it. I would LOVE to have one consolidated place (WITH MY SUBSCRIPTIONS IN ALPHABETICAL ORDER WHICH BOTH PATREON AND MMF SEEM UNABLE TO DO), but I love the vibrancy of my feed here on Patreon, and I love the convenience of downloading from MMF. One caveat to that last comment. Drives me crazy sometimes having to download each individual model on MMF because their UI sucks. Downloading one monthly release is awesome though.

I have to agree with Andrew Parsons - the layout for tribes is awful compared to Patreon. Additionally, I'd rather not give MMF any money directly until they fix their website. Their library system is god awful, and has been for years.

JourneymanWizard

/\-- Agreed the library is awful. I am fairly new here (about a year now), and I sat down to take advantage of the Feb discount to complete some sets I missed. There was no way to figure out what I had in an army: I had to go through each model and place it in a collection. And the OPR shared is stored differently than the OPR purchased. And AND after going through "view all models" and tagging them all, I found out that not all of them showed up when I clicked into a monthly reward. So repeat. (and the site kept locking up) Maybe I missed something?

Is there going to be an option to print the tanks without the side skirts? I can't stop seeing them as anything other than birthday cakes lol

Drew Houser

Possibly you could paint them up as steel feathers? That could look very cool. Or some kind of metallic white if you’re looking to get across the “angels” look and still showing them to be metal?

Drew Houser

🤣 She’s amazed she’s fighting on a battlefield swept by laser cannons and plasma blasters armed with a stick with a ball strapped to it…

Brandon Ryan

The back of the priestess’s cape feels a little weird in its current state, imo. Very on board with everything else shown though!

I really like the fact that you will release the props for the Lust Deamons. Super usefull for basing!

Emma Marx

Right??? I’m so excited for that!! I’ve been wanting OPR basing bits for ages

Benjamin Schürmann

"so we're not planning to shift things right now" i love to hear that

The other day playing Age of Fantasy, I had a great doubt. Does anyone know where to find the "Warp" rule? The weapons of many of the demons of change have the "warp" ability and I can't find it anywhere in the rulebooks.

Sternmeyer

Check out the army builder; it has descriptions of the abilities right in the unit's data card.

Tristan Ranchon

I would totally pay a higher tiers for that. Your fleets are great, and having models for dwarves fleet or Sisters would be so cool

Loving that Ogre Rat!

Tribes vs patreon. Tribes is much more convenient and I would completely stop using patreon if all the makers I use were on MyMiniFactory. With patreon many of the creatures make you download from different sites, and its easy to miss receiving things if you dont continue the patreonage, or miss the cut off date to download, ie please move to MyMiniFactory

Quinton R.

question what in the world is that last ratman?

Azazel

For whatever reason, Tribes always costs more in AU$ than Patreon. The only exceptions are when a maker offers an "early bird" type deal, and even then it only works if you don't already have an early bird on Patreon. Offering both would be fine. "Moving" entirely would not. Aside from that I don't see any updates and the Tribes/MMF UI is pretty horrible for this sort of thing. (And I'm not interested in joining a pile of effing discord servers - theres already too many of those if you sub to more than a few makers.)
