Patreon - Simplified Posts

As we are all painfully aware, the way that information is displayed on Patreon can be quite confusing, and as we've grown, more and more supporters have been unsure of where to get their content, and how.

In order to try any help everyone out, we're going to be testing a new version of our Tier 1 and Tier 2 posts that is highly streamlined, and would like some feedback from you.

Please take a look at the posts, and let us know in the comments if you find them more useful than they were before, or if they are harder to use now. :)

Sellswords - Progress Update

It's been a minute since I last updated Sellswords, so I think it's important to give you a bit of an insight into what is going on with the game.

For those that aren't familiar with Sellswords, this is going to be our next big fantasy skirmish adventure game, which aims to bridge the gap between skirmish wargames and RPGs. It's a solo/coop game where 1-4 players go on a series of quests, kill baddies, grab loot, and level up their characters.

This game has been in early access for quite a long time, as I've been trying to find the right balance between keeping the light rules that you all enjoy, and having a series of game systems that give us enough flexibility to build an infinite number of interesting quests.

Today I've uploaded the latest build of the game, adding a new fatigue system, which I think could be the pivotal mechanic to finally make the core gameplay loop feel good for me.

Heroes can voluntarily suffer fatigue in order to perform additional actions each turn, as well as suffer fatigue to use special skills. When using a skill, they must pass a stat roll for that skill, or else suffer additional fatigue. If a hero suffers more fatigue than its endurance, then it start taking wounds instead. Make sure to use rest actions to remove fatigue!

In order to make emphasize the fatigue system, all heroes now start with one skill, and they can choose to get additional fatigue when leveling up. Having heroes that started with no skills was actually one of the gripes that I had with the game before, and now it feels much better to have a party where everyone gets to use skills.

The fatigue system replaces the fate system, and gives us a lot more options to play around with other mechanics. I will have to take an additional pass at all the special rules, items and other systems, to see where fatigue can be integrated naturally.

3D Print - New Previews, Free Snakes, New Video

At the top of this post you can see previews of some of the models that will be released in October, with the MU Sphinx Champion, the RL Destroyer Snakes and the DV Vita Aerea.

For those that might have missed this post, we have added a set of free Giant Snakes to the September release group on MMF, giving you 6 snakes in two variations (standard & armored). We've already added rules for these in the MU army book, so give them a go!

Finally, we've got a new painting video for you: https://youtu.be/pMAjP8KfjD0

Really cool! The MU Sphinx Champion with the great-weapon looks fantastic, but the dual-wielding version is a bit lacking. Would prefer larger blades coming from the forearms, like the WHF Necrosphinx, personally.

Asteroids Fred

I think Paintman's videos are a great asset. I watch them, and it gives me an idea of what colors and techniques I can use to do justice to these wonderful models!

Kyle Bentley

The new posts look very simple and easy to use to me.

I like the new format, much easier to digest at a glance

Schinkendonor

I am pretty sure I found the old posts easier to overview, but to be fair I dont quite remember how they looked.

The_Monke

Ooooo I absolutely love the RL Destroyer Snakes! Are they bigger than the originals?

Lee Brady

Hi, I'm looking to build an army and i'm using the point calc. Can you only build 1 unit at a time? or can you build the full army? Maybe I'm slow and not seeing the add unit button.

Mac

Wow, that Sphinx Champion looks fantastic! Will there be multiple head options for this one or is it just the jackal?

onepagerules

Currently you must build one unit at a time, but we are working on a new system that will allow you to build entire armies at once. :)
