New Patrons - Release Overview

Over the past few weeks, we've had a ton of new supporters join the project, many coming for the 70% summer sale. First off, welcome to you all! :)

I thought it would be a good idea to take a moment and give you an overview of what's to come during the next few months, and why you should stick around even after you've bought all those sweet minis on MMF.

Our goal with OPR is pretty simple: we want to provide the biggest amount of high quality models as possible, at the lowest price possible. This means that as long as you support us, we're going to shower you with awesome models every month, with an unbeatable deal!

Here's an overview of what's to come, broken down by faction.

Duchies of Vinci (20+ minis) - Over the next two months we're going to be releasing a ton of new stuff, with the harlequins, vinci snipers, heavy cavalry, three artillery pieces, a flying vehicles, as well as an epic new mount of the vinci captain!

Mummified Undead (45+ minis) - Over the next three months you can expect a bunch of undead models, with the snakemen, snake riders, two giants, a catapult, horse archers, vultures, a big war sphinx and sphinx champion, some undead hounds, great mount riders, as well as new mounts for the king. Oh, and a massive loyalty reward as well!

Beastmen (75+ minis) - Starting in December we're going to be doing a four month release of the entire faction, which comes with a huge amount of models. I can't list them all here, so let me just share a couple of previews to give you a little taste!

Robot Legions (35+ minis) - Over the next four months we're going to be releasing loads of new robot minis, including the heavy annihilator, eternals, doom tank, transport tank, bikes, destroyer snakes, tripod robot, snipers, swarms, two support platforms, a big spider robot, tri-scorpions and heroes, as well as the incredible wraith-shard!

If you put this all together, then you'll be getting 175+ minis across these four faction, plus a bunch of other bonus minis, games, and more things to be revealed. All of this for the low price of $10/month, and you can even get 10% off with a yearly subscription.

Oh, and did we mention that if you stick with us for 3 months in a row you also get two massive loyalty rewards? Yep, even more goodies added to your pledge for free, and we're also going to be releasing two more loyalty rewards soon, which will also be yours. :)

As I said at the beginning, our goal at OPR is to provide you with the most amount of value for the lowest price possible, in a deal that's impossible to pass up on.

Even if you decide to not stick around with us after this summer sale, I would still like to say a big thanks, as your contribution is invaluable in shaping the future of OPR and helping us with continuing to improve this project.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you! <3

Sellswords - New Combat Update

Work on Sellswords continues, and this time we took a look at some of the core combat mechanics and special rules, to bring the game closer to our other skirmish games.

In terms of combat, we felt that critical hits were a bit too powerful, and they made boss combat feel like you're just fishing for crits. Instead of being unblockable, critical hits now deal +1 hit, making them better against basic enemies, and only good against bosses when combined with the right type of weapon.

Speaking of weapons, all of the weapons were now tweaked using some of the new special rules that were ported from the other skirmish games. We felt that the addition of AP values was crucial to improve the combat, as before combat was a bit of a slog.

We didn't only add AP to the mix though, and you can now find other known special rules such as rending, blast, poison, etc. in the game, which give us more tools to create new interesting weapons and enemy encounters. Make sure to read them carefully though, as some of them work a little different than their AoF counterpart.

3D Print - New Previews, Larger Models, Schedule Updates, New Video

At the top of this post you can see previews of some of the models that will be released in September, with the DV Heavy Cavalry, the MU Snake Riders and Skull Catapult, and the RL Doom Tank and Transport Tank. We've also decided to re-work the Eternals, which will come with 2 new updated heads and 2 new updated weapons.

By popular demand, today we've updated some of our models on MMF with new versions that are 15% bigger. These new versions are only available in combined format, and come fully pre-supported. Here's all the models that have been updated: Gators, Guardian Statues, Automa Brutes, Robot Snakes, Hive Warriors, Prime Warriors (all versions), Ravenous Beasts, Hive Guardians, Shadow Hunters, Synapse Floaters, Venom Floaters.

Moving on to some important announcements.

As discussed in our last roadmap post, we've been in contact with the original artists that created the Saurians in order to expand the army. Whilst they are available to work on the models again, they won't be able to make as many models per month as we thought. This means that the release of the new Saurians has been postponed to April 2022.

That being said, there is also a lot of good news! We already started working on some new models, and below you can see one of the new unit champions that is in the works. Additionally, we have locked down the production of the Starhost as well, which should be released once the Saurians are done (around July 2022). On top of that, this two month delay has also given us the opportunity to re-visit some of our faction concepts, and we're going to be extending both the release of the Mummified Undead and the Beastmen by one month each, providing you even more models than we had planned. As always, we are going to be as transparent as possible and provide you updates if anything changes. :)

For all of you FTL fans, we've also got some great news too! Over the new 6 months we're going to be releasing one spaceship fleet every month, alternating between existing ones and some newly created ones. Not only that, but as requested by fans, we will also provide smaller versions of the models which are compatible with more games.

Finally, we've got a new painting video for you: https://youtu.be/w6JMDo24kdU

Agent Dex

Doom tanks for robot legion! Let's go!

Woah... that is alot of models... time to buy some more resin!

Nathaniel Weber

Sweet! Very excited, especially since my searches on google have not yielded any beastmen armies that really grabbed me.

Anonymous

You mean 3d space ship fleets?

Michael Zabkar

I love where this is going and I am on-the-moon for more Saurians. Thank you for the update!

Jon Carter

Very cool update! Random question: can the online point calculator be used to create a full army list? It seems to be just one unit at a time, unless I'm missing something or doing something wrong? 😅

Anonymous

you guys are bloody well nuts lol. so happy I joined in on all the fun the amount of minis every month is huge and they look great. happy to be part of it.

Anonymous

Would it be possible to break up the larger minis into more pieces? I have a resin printer with a small printing area and I have to shrink any of the very large minis to be able to print their bodies as you break them up now.

CIARAN BYRNE

Wow this is an insane update. I can not wait thanks again all involved!

onepagerules

Right now you can only create one unit at a time with it, but we're working on a webapp that will allow you to create entire armies on the fly. :)

onepagerules

We already split all the models so that they fit on the vast majority of printers available, even the smallest ones. Doing more splits gets a lot more complicated and raises the costs significantly, so we're unable to do that right now, sorry. The best solution is to either re-size the models, or cut them further yourself, and you can always get support on our discord: https://discord.gg/djBydgk

Nathaniel Weber

Re-read this post and saw the 15% larger Gators. Love it!

Branko Paseta

Will you be releasing further STLs for the dwarf line?

Uncle_GG

Thanks for the update, now us newbies know what we can buy from the existing lines while we wait.

onepagerules

There are no plans to release new models for them at the moment, but we'll definitely get back to the line and re-work it from the ground up eventually. :)

Patrick Devine

Hoping to see more FTL ships, and maybe eventually rat men

Jon Carter

Are the new Robot Legion models aimed to replace/sunset the current ones? And is the 'big robot spider' going to be even larger than the current one? 🤔

onepagerules

The new RL models are in addition to the old ones, so that we can form a complete army. The big robot spider is going to have a very different silhouette, so it's not really comparable in terms of size... but I'd say about the same maybe?
