Game Jam - Sign Up Now

This weekend the game jam starts, so make sure to sign up now!

The OPR Game Jam is a 48hr game making marathon, focused on creating one-page miniatures games. The game jam runs from  May 14th, at 8PM UK time / 3PM ET time, to May 16th, at 8PM UK time / 3PM ET time.

Point Calculator - Massive Update

It's been a while since we updated both the PDF and the online point calculator, but this week we've uploaded a massive update, adding all of the new special rules from the latest army tweaks, plus the davinci faction as well.

Mission Packs - Missions Tweaked

Thanks to player feedback we've updated the Blood & Glory as well as the Dark Night missions, clearing up some of the rules to be more specific.

Sellswords - New D6 Update

Today I've uploaded a massive update for Sellswords, which fundamentally changes how the game is played, so make sure to take a look at it!

So far one of the biggest issue that I found with Sellswords is that the gameplay was a little boring, and sometimes a little tedious as well.

Part of this was because the game got a little too "mathy" with its 2D6 system, so I've switched it to a D6 system for now. This will need more testing, and the rules might be reverted to 2D6 at some point, but nothing is set yet.

The other thing was that the core gameplay loop was too predictable and not very engaging. So, in order to make things more exciting, we now have an initiative system which has players alternate turns with the AI, meaning that the enemy can actually get in the way of your plans.

We now also have a re-worked pushing and stunning system, which adds a new dimension to the combat, making things a lot more dynamic (as well as giving us more options to make enemies interesting).

Additionally all of the melee and ranged weapons have been re-worked, giving them all new and exciting special rules. Plus we've also added 30 additional items that heroes can take on their mission to spice things up!

After some early playtesting I can say that the game is definitely a lot more fun, but still has a long way to go before it is finished. Anyway, you can find the download here.

3D Print - June Previews, Welcome Pack Updates

At the top of this post you can see some new previews of our June release, with the DaVinci Scouts (and Aerea Scouts), as well as the Alien Toxico-Rex.

Then there's some minor news regarding the welcome pack. In order to streamline the way we deliver our content, from now on you can find the welcome pack inside the user group for each month, instead of having to go to a separate user group.

This helps us lower the amount of e-mails we have to send every day, and also lowers the amount of different user groups everyone will have as we start uploading new welcome packs. The plan is to make a Dwarves + Battle Sisters welcome pack starting in June, but more info on that as things come along...
