AoF: Regiments Progress

Ok so now that that's out of the way, let's move on to game updates.

Right now we're working on the new Full Rulebook for AoF: Regiments, and with that we've had to re-create all of the diagrams to fit in with square bases and regiments.

Apart from that we'll be updating the core rules part of the book, and we're considering replacing some of the advanced rules sections for regiments-specific ones, but are still not 100% sure on that.

Here are some previews for you to enjoy:

Spell Casting Changes

If you've been following the discussion happening on our Discord server, then you'll know that we're currently looking into re-working spell casting.

At its core we think that spell casting as a mechanic is working as intended, however spells are not very balanced. Right now for example attack spells are usually better than effect spells, and some of the action spells are way better than their effect spell counterpart.

In order to mitigate this we're currently testing out a couple of different things, so you can expect changes the spell lists in the near-ish future. One thing that we'll be changing for sure is requiring line of sight to cast and block spells, but the rest is still open.

Other Upcoming Changes

With the recent release of the Full Rulebooks for GFF and AoFS, we've decided that we're going to be re-working upgrade lists for all armies to be more understandable.

Right now whenever we port an army from the main games to the skirmish games we simply update the point costs but leave the layout the same way, which has been causing some confusion among players, especially newer players.

In order to avoid that we're goign to be reviewing all armies, where you can expect condensed and re-labeled upgrade lists.

Then with the upcoming release of the Full Rulebook for AoFR we've also decided to change how Command Groups work in the game.

Right now Command Groups are functional, however they leave many questions in terms of how they should be represented by models, what happens when models die, if a unit can buy multiple Command Groups, etc.

In order to clarify these questions we're going to be changing Command Groups so that now players actually pay for Sergeants, Musicians and Battle Standards individually, with each having an effect on the unit.

We're also thinking of ways to have them work in AoFS as well, so that players can finally use those models in smaller games too.

AoF: Regiments Cover Teaser

Finally here's a teaser for the upcoming AoFR cover, what could it be..?
