As we already mentioned last week we're going to be releasing 3 new fantasy armies soon, so we thought it would be nice to share previews of what's actually coming at you.

We've uploaded previews of the 3 new armies (Halflings, Havoc Dwarves, Shadow Stalkers) to the Tier 2 folder, which you can find here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/34546818

For those of you that are unfamiliar with these armies, the Havoc Dwarves and Shadow Stalkers are based off models from Mantic Games and Forge World, whilst the Halflings are based off models from different manufacturers, as well as the TTCombat Kickstarter.

Note that the Point Calculators were updated with these new armies.

Next up let's talk about what miniatures we'll be releasing in May.

On the 3D print end of things this month we've got 4 releases, of which 3 are collaborations with other awesome Patreon creators.

The releases will be:

  • Battle Sisters Jetpack Squad
  • Dwarf Riflemen Squad - in collaboration with Kyoushuneko Miniatures
  • Sci-Fi Ratmen Hero - in collaboration with ThatEvilOne
  • Fantasy Foxmen Hero - in collaboration with Ilhadiel

On the 2D print end of things we ran a community poll recently, and the results is that we'll be releasing a new set of Alien Hives miniatures.

Right now we're thinking of probably having a couple of variations of Grunts, as well as some Soul-Snatchers and Hive Warriors, but nothing is set in stone yet.

Finally let's talk about some smaller changes that are coming, mainly to the way that we handle spell casters in all of our games.

When we did the last major army overhaul we also updated all of the spell lists for all armies, which has served as a great step in unifying the feeling of spell casters across armies and games.

After a lot of playtesting however we now feel that there is a discrepancy between how balanced spell casters are points wise and how balanced they feel when in the game, so we're looking into making a small change to try and make spell casters feel more balanced.

The change is simple: spell casters will now need line of sight to their target.

We've considered a lot of other ways to re-balance the spells system, from changing point costs to changing casting values, but in the end we feel that this small change should be enough to balance out the system without doing anything radical.

Aaaand that's it for today, hope you liked the update! :)
