New 3D Print Collaboration, Rules Updates and a New Army (Patreon)

Things have been moving forward pretty fast here at OPR, and today we've got a couple of cool new things to announce, plus a couple of files for you to check out!

New 3D Print Collaboration

First up, we're really happy to announce that we'll be collaborating with Kyoushuneko Miniatures to release 3D print fantasy miniatures for Age of Fantasy.

They make really stunning looking fantasy miniatures which are released via their own Patreon, and they've agreed to collaborate with us to provide miniatures specifically designed for our games.

The way this is going to work is that they provide us with special miniatures which are going to be exclusive to our patrons in early access for one month, and after that will be made available for free on CGTrader.

So yeah, more models for you every month, sounds pretty great. :D

New 3D Print Army List

On top of that awesome news we got even more stuff coming, as we've teamed up with the awesome folks at The Makers Cult to provide you with a new army list. :D

This time we're going to be working on the Havoc Machine Cult list, which is going to provide a twisted take on these machine loving warriors.

We've just started working on this army list so it's a bit too early to share them, but we think this is going to turn out really great, especially with all those shiny models!

Upcoming 3D Print Models

Now that we got the survey results we're going to be moving forward with making models for the most requested army, the Battle Sisters.

The first model we're going to be releasing will be a hero, with an infantry squad and weapon options coming up next, which should all be ready by the start of next month.

Unfortunately we have no preview renders yet, but we'll get them to you ASAP.

In the meantime we've already created the official OPR CGTrader page, where you can find the first 2 free hero models, and we're going to add the free troops as soon as we have a nice render of them.

Rules Updates

Alright, now that the 3D print stuff is done, let's get to some juicy rules stuff!

This week we've been working on updating the existing AI Rules and the Point Calculator, whilst also creating a new Tournament Guidebook for those that want to play a slightly more competitive version of the game.

AI Rules - These have mostly stayed the same, with most of the changes just being re-writings and clarifications to make them easier to use.

We wanted to add some decision trees to the rules, but after playing around with them they ended up looking pretty bad, so we've held off on that idea for now... but might come back to it later.

Point Calculator - We've put a lot of effort into making the point calculator more readable and simpler to use, whilst also clarifying that it's both for GF and GFF.

There are a couple of new things too, such as balance checklist to make sure you have everything you need in your army to make it competitive, a psychic spells section that explains how to create your own lists, as well as a new section on how to convert armies from regular games to skirmish.

Tournament Guidebook - Lots of people asked for this over the years, so I've taken a bit of time off the other stuff to put together the first official tournament rules.

These give you a framework for running tournaments, whilst also providing army composition rules and other tournament balance rules that many people have been asking for (and that can be used in regular games too).

To keep things simple I've only uploaded the GF versions of all these rules, but as soon as they're done we're going to be making the AoF versions available as well.

For now all of this stuff is going to stay in early access, and it's only going to be going out to the public after we've got some bigger stuff out the way. The only exceptions are the point calculators, which will both be uploaded to the patreon as soon as they're finished.
