I am soooo glad you watched this! & I agree. V's solo work is making me love him SO much more :') I love everyone's solo projects but I think this EP might be my fave right after RM's Indigo

Layover and Indigo are my fav fav albums in this solo era, like I NEED this two albums to live♥️ Yess bestie, Taehyung has urticaria cholinergic, this is a skin condition and it's sometimes very painful, he can't wear many tight clothes, he hate shoes too, can't be exposed to sun (you're gonna watch eventually clips with a tone of sunscreen in Tae's face ^^), he can't handle spicy food or stay a lot of time in saunas, all of this thing can provoke a bad reaction on his skin and temperature of his body.

I love how connected he is with music... Between the members I think Yoongi and Taehyung are (I don't want to say the most) but the music it's so so present in their lifes. Yoongi plays the piano and he never lost practice, he even dedicated the song "First Love" to this old friend. Taehyung played the saxophone for 4 or 6 years, after his dad encouraged him because "a singer has to know at least play one instrument" that's the story Tae told us, he practiced piano and saxophone and he fall in love with Jazz music. Some years later after debut he took classes in violin (he ended up quitting) and the trumpet, if you want you can watch compilations in YouTube about all of this. Tae himself said in Suchwita that he's the person who most listen to music in the whole world, he likes discovering new music and artists all the time, his past Vlives literally were called TaeTaeFM, like a radio and he spent time playing songs and singing💖 that's how much he loves music, even orchestra and opera ^^

RM is the pen (the lyrical genius) and Tae is the instrument (the musical maestro/creative genius). lol. I get what you’re trying to say. Today’s music is labels using formula’s to make hit song to chart. Also singers today ad the runs/ad libs and high notes because it has been proven to appeal to the listeners ears. I feel that high notes etc are all about the singer and their skills and not about the song. Singers get to show off their skill this way, but more often than not, it takes away from the musicality and (especially) the lyrics. What I love about Tae is that he is a musician’s musician and even thought he has the range and skills vocally, he is all about the song and lyrics. He doesn’t mind taking the back seat in his songs to allow for instrumentals, to give musicians a moment for them to shine. All of Tae's solo music includes real instruments, like in winter bear he added a cello and violins. He added white noise in scenery and rainy days because he wants to create ambiance with his music to surround us with a feelings, emotions and moods. He started his music career playing the saxophone, and learnt partitions on a piano, tried learning the violin and is currently learning to play the trumpet. So he is steeped in classical music and jazz and I think that’s what makes him stand out. To make timeless music you can’t add current trends into the song. It has to have a vibe and good lyrics and Tae understands this. People under estimate his music but he is clever. He told us that jazz is too complex and so he made his album more contemporary and pop with elements of jazz to appeal to today’s listener. That level of understanding isn’t in everyone.

Esosa, yes Tae has a skin disorder called cholinergic urticaria. This means that if his body temperature is raised he can break out in hives, nausea, sleepy etc. so for a performer it is especially hard to manage. Bts are manic on stage so how Tae copes is remarkable. They had to stop the summer packages as it was too hot for Tae, they started doing winter packages because of it. On every stage performance you will see a ton of fans around the edges of the stage so that he can cool down, you will also see him constantly drinking water because that helps. They also have provided industrial strength air conditioning and fans behind the stage so that he can cool down as soon as he gets off the stage. His skin disorder is also another reason why Tae started wearing loose fitting clothes a sit helps circulate air and control his body temperature. It’s also part of the reason that the manic hyper tae of the early days is a lot quieter and still nowadays.

Can't agree more with your take on tae's music. Nothing is overdone in this album and make it sound just very honest. I love that he stick to what he loves about music. I think that musically, V was a bit overlooked so I am glad he was able to show the artist he is. My favorite solo work to date. Can't wait for the tiny desk reaction you gonna have a blast ;)
