EDIT: didn’t realise it didn’t post on time. Just letting you know that we will be without internet for a few days so don’t worry.

It’s 3 am again so IG caption repost:

It was bound to happen. After the amazing day we had yesterday in terms of women empowerment, today felt like a reality check. As much as we would love to put women on the forefront of the story, today felt like a reminder of why we even want to do this in the first place. To restore lost female voices and give them a place in the world.

Yesterday the future was female. Today the present is their invisibility. We were told we would visit and interview women in pottery. Only to find out that there weren't any women present as well as that the pottery is always made by men.

Only the women paint the works but from the privacy of their own home.

We will continue to search, speak and amplify. Huge lessons were made and we will move accordingly.

Next stop: Sahara

Sorry to hear things didn't go as expected every time but sometimes it's the messages that were unintended that lead go to be the most important. Bringing things like this to light is a huge step in being able to reflect positive change and, as you said, to be able to experience that first hand hopefully lights more beacons than extinguished flames. On a more upbeat note, that cat was cute.
