Fortnightly Update 56: Happy Christmas! (Patreon)

Hey everyone, hopefully this blog finds you well! On this festive update, we have two WIPs to share - including my widest commission ever - and a snap of the cold snap in Life Stuff. So, strap on your tinsel and jingle those bells...

Art Stuff

After all that buildup, i'll admit none of the stuff i'm working on right now is Christmassy. However, one is the biggest animation i've tried yet (after my first attempt using my BFs Bunny Gal):

As you can see, the timeline is nutty. All those little diamonds are keyframes (for movement) and all the squares are switching between frames. The robo-kitty is gonna be singing along to a quirky tune and hopefully i'll have learnt a thing or two about animating in Clip Studio Paint.  (99% of the assets have been drawn by my BF, and he's behind the concept. Another solid collab incoming 😊)

And that commission i've been talking about for the last two updates, i've finally had some time to start on sketching it out (it's gonna be a sketchy style piece ultimately):

This thing's so wide, i decided to take this screengrab by spreading the canvas across my monitors:

It's nutty, but the client (my BF) has helped out massively by prepping the super-rough sketch (in Blue). I like the concept of having two different TFs stemming from the same spot, but this thing sure will take me a while. 

Life Stuff

I'm writing this on the 23rd, before packing up and visiting my family for a bit - aside from dreading the packing and cleaning and driving i'm looking forward to having a chillout Christmas :) 

The last two weeks have been good for my art vibes. The monthly art was intense but has been very well received - i'm currently at 184 patrons, a new record by quite a way. It's seeming plausible that I hit 200 patrons soon, that'd be awesome! I think i'll talk more about 2023 plans next week...

Also, the UK recently had a big cold snap - we were at -9C at 10am one morning, and then two days later back up to 12C and rainy...  The frost looked super cool:

Also, while i'm not a big boardgame guy I gotta say that Catan is maybe my favourite game to play with friends. And not just because I can use the roads and houses to spell words:

Anyway, that's quite enough for one update - I gotta go wash some dishes and shave!
