Fortnightly Update 40: Painterly Trees and Pinguinos (Patreon)
Content
Hey everyone, welcome to May! In this update there's a tiny update on the monthly art, and then in life updates I get prepped for hot weather.
Art Stuff
We're a bit slim on art updates this time, due to me only just having finished the rough sketch for the Monthly Art.
However, i've been getting cracking on the background, and have a little update on that. I'm trying a lineless style for the foliage, which'll include the trees and the edges of the grass. And so far I think it looks rather fetching, if not photo-realistic :)
Kinda love drawing a background like this, how the different layers are in various states of unfinished. The shadow of a bush that's yet to be, a flat football hovering over a green plane...
I'm very hopeful that this month's art will go faster than April, giving me more time to do the alts and then a few days to get cracking on commissions before June hits us. Balancing commissions while also delivering enough patreon content without burning out is something I haven't quite mastered.
Life Stuff
Speaking of June, i'm sure we're due a heatwave at some point and I want to be ready. And sure, some American readers might laugh but every year it tips over 28C and I melt.
Not this time, i've got myself an air conditioner! Meet my new housemate, the Pinguino:
This thing can cool 82sqm apparently, which i think is bigger than the footprint of my house.
I'm looking forward to trying the Pinguino out, but Sod's Law dictates that we're now due a whole week of rain. Still a win, i guess?
In other summery news, I went for another wander yesterday evening and the wildflowers are out in full force. Check out these ( i assume ) seed pods!
Anyways, that's all from me for now. Hopefully you're having a lovely May, thanks as always for your support and i'll be back with the finished art in a week or so :)
