Just want to talk a little about what the stages are for future developments and how Firebox Studio is going to develop in animation technique.

Motion capture is not the so called "Final Solution" to animation woes but to be used as a tool to bridge the gap for development time and quality.

This picture sums up perfectly the problems with production time and being a one man band (animation wise).

Due to wanting more quality animations the length of time it takes is more than another animator which does a 2 second basic loop.

Yes he gets out more content but it isn't as engaging (personal opinion).

So what are these suits going to do for Firebox Studio, quite simple really as its all about speed.

Picture a scene, Lara Croft handcuffed to a chair whilst Harley Quinn walks around her talking about what shes going to do to her.

Now before there is any sex scene evolved theirs a ton of things that has to happen first.

The walk animation around Lara to be convincing alone is hours and hours and hours of work, now what if I got my female buddy to shake her hips and walk around me whilst filming her and shes wearing the suit.

All of a sudden I have about 30 mins to and hour cleanup and a pretty damn accurate animation which would be x10 better than anything that could be done by my hand.

I want to start off with one suit and eventually move to two, this is where the money will be going.

Got loads of potential plans and uses for this suit but I wont tell just yet.

What do you think about the suit, waste of time or good investment?

Director.

I would say go for it i have always liked the idea of using motion capture in the adult industry 'cause i reckon it's probably gonna shorten the production time but also give more small and realistic details to a scene (depending on what you're making). But it's like you say motion capture is not the final stage but it's still a pretty handy tool.

I think the biggest room for improvement for SFM animations (blanket term) right now is to break away from looping animations. Motion capture is the fastest and easiest way to do that. Imo, it's a no-brainer

I am hoping that the suit is good enough to pick up the subtle movements, but thinking about it now you could even do a rough block in scene and test out camera angles too.

For some looping animations make sence if they are close to the 20-30 second mark, but then you got to be good with your camera and editing to get the most out of the animation. BUT you are correct, looping is a fallback to lack of time/skill and the future has and always will be game story based porn. this requires more than just thrusting hips lol.

Good investment!

Mr Stealth

Its a pretty damn good idea, but personally i think its something that requires to think of all aspects. I mean. It is some high tech stuff to get started with.

I do believe its the way forward in terms of story telling and if I can find a willing couple to dry hump for 20 mins then even better xD

Lot of money to throw down but see how it turns out, end of the day its $5000 for two suits.... so it has to make that back in time removed from work and not add to it.

I have no doubt that it is a good investment. It's a necessary step in this business, if I can use that word. Makes it easier and quicker to produce content, and it's better quality content aswell. Even though it might be hard to use it at first, I can't imagine why anyone would be apposed to it knowing what it would contribute. It's a win/win situation pretty much.

It is a win win, but a big commitment. Grew up having very little money so spending this amount in one go is strange for me haha.
