So to sum up the plot, an “angry mob” of townspeople, along with the mayor (the old white guy) roll up to Maestro’s (MJ’s) home and basically try to run him out of town because they perceive him as a weirdo. But ultimately, Maestro wins them over by proving through song and dance that he means no harm. Even the mayor can’t help but to be possessed/moved by the music, but ultimately, his disdain for anything/anyone he deems strange or undesirable becomes the death of him.

The songs you hear in the film (2 Bad, Ghosts, Is It Scary) are responses to his detractors—the people who taunted his eccentricities, looks and the ones who believed he was a pedophile. This film is hella symbolic. The angry parents = the court of public opinion that perceived MJ negatively. The mayor = the district attorney who had a hard-on for taking Mike down/the tabloids.
