Hmmm I don't think I understood the question perfectly buut I try to separate all the important elements in layers of depth so they are easier to paint!

Thank you Carles for your kind reply! maybe I can try to ask more clearly about my question. I saw you will firstly make a grey value picture, and then begin to deal with color. Do you add color based on the grey value(like if it is in the darker grey area, you will use a darker yellow)? I always have problem at the stage of adding color but losing the value, so I really wanna hear your experience. thank you!
