Been working on a Cult of the Lamb comic the last couple of days, but I really wanted it to include a good-looking background, so I decided to finally try my hand at the perspective tools included in Clip Studio Paint. This is probably the third or fourth attempt I've done so far, and the first time I've worked with the Perspective Ruler, which I'm glad I've discovered recently- before, I was trying to use the 3D Layer tools to work with perspective but it was way too fussy for me to work with effectively. The Perspective Ruler is similar but much simpler and easier to use.

Despite the amount of time I've sunk into this project thus far, the actual comic itself is going to be pretty simple; only about five panels long at most. So I thought I'd show you all what I've made so far so you can get an idea of the work I'm putting into this. All those purple and green lines are the guides for the Perspective Rulers as well as a Symmetry Ruler, and I've also included all the reference pics I used in making this background.

Gotta say, going full digital with my art has really allowed me to be more bold with drawing backgrounds and perspective. On paper, trying to draw with perspective always makes me anxious because I'm a stickler for precision, and with perspective drawing, being off by just a few millimeters can make the whole picture look awful and force me to erase and re-draw a whole day's worth of drawing. Plus I can never seem to figure out exactly where to put the vanishing point; every tutorial I read basically says "just put it wherev feels right idk :P" which is not helpful.
