MM: Painis Cupcake Sketches (2012) (Patreon)

Way back in the early 2000's, I was a big fan of Garry's Mod and the videos that people made with it. One reoccurring character was Rubberfruit's Painis Cupcake, a freaky monster version of the TF2 Soldier who randomly mutilates and devours people while slithering around with bone-crunching sound effects. After watching several videos featuring this freaky cannibal I decided to try and make something myself, either as an illustrated fanfic or a whole comic.

Taking a note from John Carpenter's The Thing, I sketched out a bunch of ideas for what I wanted to do- having the titular Painis Cupcake grow bigger and more mutated as time went on, spawning tiny soldier helmet-shaped spiders that would attack others, or making victims of his attacks mutate into Painis Cupcake-like monsters... I had loads of ideas.

Unfortunately I could never decide on a cohesive narrative and got bogged down by too many ideas (plus my interest in Garry' mod waned), so I scrapped the idea entirely.
