As many of my longtime readers know, a lot of research goes into my writing.  I'd like to think it provides value and a bit more substance to the story, but who knows.  Do you guys even notice?  Or care?

The latter man was someone she’d met many times before at a dozen or more social events over the years since he’d been appointed to the post. Both men promptly stood as they entered the room, the Queen still noticeably absent.
