Not sure where this could be on the FT or even if it makes sense given it could be a vulnerability in the hull during battle, but I consulted this image while writing the chapter.

Erinnyes

It could pretty easily be a section on the arrowhead edge, and as long as the section was completely isolated it wouldn't be a structural threat to the rest of the ship, since the armor and such would still be present behind it. In a worst case scenario it'd just be destroyed in combat and need rebuilding afterwards.

SPOILER ALERT for a future chapter! Don't read further if you don't want to know!! What I've not emphasized or talked about during those design chapters, is that the arrowhead shape of the vessel is not just because that's what it looked like in Voyager or because its shape is ideal for slipstream travel, though both are true. Gothic fully intends to use the ship like a dagger, when shit gets desperate. That part of the ship has shield penetrating technology and is heavily reinforced to withstand impact. Gothic knows that his ship, even as well armed as it is, is going to go up against ships it can't handle. In those cases, if he has to, he has the ability to go to ramming speed into an enemy ship to destroy/disable it. IF his design works out, then he should be able to survive that.
