“I could, but I think you’ll want to take it. It’s Keiko O’Brien, Chief O’Brien’s wife,” Ro explained in a professional tone, before her voice turned sultry and flirty. “And may I say that she is looking delicious right now.”

Keiko? Really. Now that was interesting…and unexpected.

“Send her in then,” I said, feeling intrigued.

With that, the door to my office opened and a familiar sight from my time onboard the Enterprise, when I first arrived in this dimension, walked in.

“Keiko! It’s lovely to see you again!” I greeted, not so discreetly eyeing her up and down, a wide smile on my face as I got up and came around my desk to shake her hand. “I’ve been wondering when we’d eventually run into each other. The station’s big, but it’s not that big.”

I remember her first appearance on TNG for 'Data's Day'...I had an instant crush on her (always did have a thing for Asian girls...). I wish she could have had a bigger role in more episodes of TNG and DS9...so much potential there.

I agree. She was one of the rare (maybe even unique) visible examples on TNG and DS9 of a Starfleet officer's spouse living at their spouse's duty station, especially someone like her who wasn't actually in Starfleet themselves. Of course, we knew that the Enterprise D had families onboard, but we rarely saw examples of that from the main cast. Keiko, on DS9, showed how difficult it could be. She followed her husband to DS9, in the middle of nowhere, and didn't otherwise have a job of her own for a while. So, beyond her being pretty sexy, she was a great way to get a glimpse of family life when your spouse was serving in Starfleet.
