The witches were scattered throughout the chaos of the witch hunt, and Dahlia, one of their coven's more skilled witches, repelled the hutners while the others managed to flee. This ultimately resulted in her being captured by them and subjected to their torture. But with the traitor Solomon's on their side, Aradia was unable to locate her.

Dahlia was subjected to a great deal of torment at their hands, but one thing became evident: no matter what they did to her, she would not break or betray her witches. That was how she earned the title, The Iron Maiden.
