Currently I'm using the Announcements channel to provide updates during the day to Patreons.

In the past I was using Patreon posts. The problem is that each update will send you an email. And some days I need to make many announcements. This can become a bit too spammy for some users.

Of course people can disable emails from Patreon but then they risk missing important updates.

I truly don't mind going back to Patreon or keeping it in the announcements channel on Discord. But as mentioned below we might need to look into an alternative anyways.

Please answer below the option that you prefer for receiving announcements.

Assume that you might get from 1 to 10 announcements in a day. In average they should be 4.

Constrains: whichever option we consider needs to be authenticated. I cannot send notifications to telegram as anyone can join a telegram or whatsapp group, I don't have any way to restrict it only to Patreons unfortunately.

not sure it exist but a telegram read only channel with only announcements would be handy as well as email

It exists

I would consider Signal, it has Admin option so only verified and invited people can join the group plus it has a desktop app as well

I think email might be the best bet, we can set your emails to VIP on most devices and get a strong notification, only issue is the refresh cycle on receiving the email

Returning to Patreons’s articles is ok. At least in iOS the Patreon app has the ability to set/unset the send an email option. I already turned off and only receive push notifications for Patreon. No mails spamming my inbox.

Paterson’s articles is fine or emails too...instead of using any other social media platform like telegram/WhatsApp

I voted for both. The more chance we will see your announcements, the better.

What about using Whatsapp broadcasting lists? For me would not be a problem to share my phone number to receive important announcements. https://faq.whatsapp.com/android/chats/how-to-use-broadcast-lists/?lang=es

Telegram/Signal group

Vote for both email and on announcements. my personal opinion would be even to use the @everyone when sending it so that I can get an additional notification to read.

I vote Signal or Telegram also, personally because I want to be interrupted for those ultra important messages. There is a reason we pay > $100 a month :) Personally, I think signal is more secure, but I use both. Telegram may have features that work better for group management. Not 100% sure. That said, I would still like the announcements channel and email announcements to exist in parallel. 🥸

TELEGRAM is used often. Better dans mails

I would even go so far to give you the option to stop (all) bots remotely if there's a major f. up incoming 😅

SMS. I am a classic! I lt works, its free and it needs subscription.

I would advise against signal as it is required to interchange phone numbers. Telegram would be the best bet for these types of announcements.

Even a msg on telegram as a notification to check discord would be ok

Really impressed with https://thetradingparrot.com Bots Dashboard tab, makes it much easier for me to choose which bots to use based on what funds Ive got available, seeing monthly results etc. Perhaps do updates direct from your website, then send us a simple link to your website at the end of your articles. Great work, thanks.
