I thought it would be a good idea to write down this for the future!

As a first option I would advice increasing BO and SO. If you want to keep the original design of the bot you are copying you must respect the original ratio between BO and SO.

Example: if they were originally BO: 20 and SO: 40. Then you could use BO:40 and SO:80 in that way you keep the ratio of 1:2.

Adding more deals is another option but not always applicable. For example some signals like CQS may only fire deals for up to 5 concurrent deals. If the bot already had 5 active deals in its settings then adding more active deals may not necessarily make use of your funds wisely. Adding more deals won’t always help.

The results of adding more active deals depends a lot on what’s your “deal open condition”.

Examples:

1) On QFL adding more deals impacts negatively the profits. Do a test, create a QFL aggressive bot with 10 active deals and one with a single active deal. Find each with 10K. Paper trade them for 2 weeks. Results are mind blowing. The gap is huge!!!

2) On CQS, if there’s not enough signals you end up with money not being used.

To maximise the use of funds we must find the right number of deals according to what the bot will utilise most of the time.

And that’s why the simple answer for how to increase the funding on a bot is to increase the SO and BO size while respecting the original ratio of the bot you are copying.
