This is something I wanted to do since so long. This is probably one of the most recognizable frames of "The Lion King 2" and as much I love the movie, I always felt that the characters didn't look like in the original movie at all, and Simba is the one that changed most. I just wanted to do a reinterpretation of this iconic frame using the style and colors from the original movie.

I would like to try start a redraw challenge XP

Tell me: Do you ever feel the same about this movie change on style?

Definitely looks better in the original style

If I may, Simba got hotter and sexier than in the original, looks more like a hot daddy. Can you rate him in The Lion Guard, they made him less hot. This smile is good, but the scene where he's relaxing with his fathers on the vine and sleep is sexier in itself

Honestly, I didn't mind the style of the second movie but seeing this kinda makes me wish that Disney had stuck with the original

Your edit really is so much better, it just feels warmer and like it had more time put into it. I've noticed similar issues with other Disney sequels, there seems to be less budget and therefore less time put into them when compared to the originals, and so the artwork becomes more simple and toonish. Really great work here!

I love it, you really do the smile justice 😊

Yes! You did this frame great justice! The colors of Timon and Pumba also bothered me back when I watched this in 1998. Regardless, I still love the movie along with the original. :)
