Christmas 2020 (Patreon)

Happy Holidays everyone. I know I'm late, I know I haven't uploaded  or posted anything in weeks. It's 2020, things are... complicated.

But first of all, I want to thank everyone who supported me, especially during the long days of inactivity! Thank you so much. It's you that remind me, that there are still good, honest people out there who keep me from ditching what I loved to do entirely!

A  little update from my side and an outlook on 2021: The reason I didn't  upload anything is simple: due to the pandemic, the MASSIVE piracy  issues and the fact, that slowly but surely my old PC is giving up on  me, I was no longer able to pay the bills. So I had to take a part-time  job again and just as back when I did the very same job full time it's  slowly sucking my soul out of me. On the upside it is paying well enough  to get me out of debt and afford a new, state of the art BEAST of a PC -  including the new GeForce RTX 3090. And I gotta say, it's such a  massive difference compared to my old machine. Where it took 8 Hours to  get 300 iterations on a very complex renders, this new graphics card is  able to pump out 3000 iterations in only half an hour! So at least that  will help me getting back into it.

However,  there is still no progress on a new chapter and it will still take me a  while to upload the idle-content I made over the last weeks. The  part-time job kept me rotating up until the very week before christmas  and the holidays have been very stressful too, so I've only now found  the time to do this little christmas comic featuring a very big Emma and  some very smol Borrowers ;)

And, of course, there is still the  issue of the great Plague of 2020: COVID19. The second wave has hit much  harder here than the first one and our government had to issue more and  more restrictive lockdowns and curfews. And while that doesn't affect  me that much - I'm a hermit who only leaves the house in an absolute  emergency - the disease is slowly but terrifyingly surely creeping up to  me and my family. My mom is a surgeon at our local hospital and even  though she's not directly at  the frontlines of the pandemic response,  many of the staff there have been infected due to mismanagement and  carelessness. My grandmother lives in a nursig home and it is currently  under complete quarantine because of an outbreak. It's not in her ward,  but it remains to be seen how well they can contain it. We weren't  allowed to see her this christmas - but "luckily" for her, her mind is  already so far gone that she doesn't have a sense of time anymore.  Nevertheless, if the virus spreads to her ward, there's no chance for  her to survive it. My grandma is the "poster child" of  immuno-compromisation and if she gets infected, she will die. And it's  tearing me the fuck apart.

So this is it from  my side... I hope you have safe and happy holidays, as much as the  circumstances allow it. Let's all hope this nightmare will be over in  2021. Happy holidays and a happy new year.
