This was fun to watch with you! One of my fav rom-coms and I hadn’t seen this in a while so it was fun to revisit. You should totally do more rom-coms! The Wedding Singer is a good one that’s been thrown around recently. A personal recommendation of mine would be Adventureland (2009). It’s an independent movie with a bunch of big name actors and it’s a fun timepiece set in 1987.

I had absolutely no doubt that you would love this movie as much as you did! You may remember from previous comments that I'm a big "smart rom-com" fan. In fact, I have two #1 faves -- When Harry Met Sally and Return To Me. Both to me have stellar writing, directing and acting..... and Return To Me has even better developed and written supporting characters than WHMS does in my opinion. I bring up my pitch for Return To Me again now because you mentioned that you were back in a rom-com mood. Here's hoping I'll see it pop up in your reactions soon. I really appreciate you considering it.

Enjoyed the reaction. I have a recommendation that is like this one but it has old people like me trying to hook up. Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton in Somethings Gotta Give.

This is without a doubt my favorite movie. Great reaction Shanelle! I had some trouble staying synced, your video kept falling behind. Same thing is happening with 10 Things. Just wanted to give you a heads up ☺️

Firstly I am glad I am not alone on the pimple front. Secondly as an actor could you do the Meg Ryan orgasm scene?

Now that you've got WHMS and You've Got Mail under your belt, may as well complete the Nora Ephron rom-com hat trick with Sleepless, which is my own favorite among the three.

Fun reaction! Not sure if you have anything 4th of July-related planned, but you should definitely watch The Patriot from 2000.

Adventureland is in my top 5 favorite movies of all time. Greg Mottola has two films on my tops list!!

Ahh thank you!! So weird, maybe my screen recorder should be upgraded—I’ll look into it!

I’d have no choice but to just go for it 10/10 like she did—i don’t know if it’d be as funny but i think my bigger fear is phoning it in, giving that a half-assed try!! Would be so much more embarrassing haha. You’d need a great director to take care of the performance here, make sure you get what you need

I remember that one!! I have the $100 tier this month coming up, which happens to include a part II to tease it a little…

It's interesting that you said that you felt the actors in this acted out the dialogue in a more natural way than the leads in "You've Got Mail." As you noted, Meg Ryan was in both of them. While this is hardly scientific, my personal theory is that the reason this may be so is because Rob Reiner directed "When Harry Met Sally," while Nora Ephron directed "You've Got Mail." I know it sounds ridiculous that someone else would do a better job of directing people to recite Nora Ephron's lines than Nora Ephron herself would be capable of, but that's the conclusion I've come to. I find "Harry and Sally" to be effortlessly witty. But other Ephron scripts that were directed by Ephron herself - well, they're much more heavy handed to me. "Michael," "Sleepless in Seattle," "You've Got Mail" - none of them feel as feather-light as "Harry Met Sally."

I think Ephron's approach to her own end product may be a little more removed from day to day reality. Hardly dreamlike or fantasy, it's more fairy tale than anything. Whereas Reiner built his directorial name on Spinal Tap, so loosey goosey is his calling card.
