Grease 2 lol. I know most think it might not be as good as the first but that's the one I grew up watching over and over on HBO and it's one of my favorite all time movies.

The Outsiders is my favorite high school movie. Not really set in school but school aged kids.

I do remember my teacher telling us that. It's been 30 odd years lol. But I remember loving the book then the movie.

"Gregory's Girl" is worth mentioning. Also, "Breaking Away" although that's technically a "summer after high school" movie.

Clueless

American Pie is the only one I've seen. No idea on suggestions.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High for the silly but fun raunchy 80's comedy and Dead Poets Society worth seeing just for Robin Williams' performance

Not sure about the "best" movie concerning High School. High Schoolers in situations, yes, but actually filming a school day? I'm not sure. I tended to avoid those I guess. I could name a great bunch of high schooler movies from the 1980s and 1990s, but none that I can think of took place during school hours, generally. School was more of an after thought.

Okay, scrolling through your other movies, I'd have to say Grease and Grease Two were pretty good, even if it was only half in school. At least they did take place somewhat in school. Hiding Out was another I liked (even though it was an adult hiding in school, it had a lot of school things). In fact, those are probably my top three. I love the Outsiders, but that didn't really involve being in school at all! I never saw any that are pictured above.

I really love seeing all the love for Dazed & Confused on here!

The Outsiders isn't in the high school, but it is high schoolers.

Porky's , first movie I saw with Kim Catrall.

The Faculty is a high school movie. Horror/sci-fi

Tough one. I think every generation has their own set. I always thought "Some Kind of Wonderful" stood out. Not as well known as "the other" Hughes High School films, but worth a look.
