So let's see here. Random movies on the way. Taxi Driver. Cool Hand Luke. The Sting. Singing in the Rain. La La Land. Also, have you thought about dedicating a given month to a particular filmmaker or to a movie that includes a major Oscar win? If that's the case then I would also suggest The Favourite (best actress win for Olivia Coleman). 3 Billboards outside Ebbing Missouri (Best Actress win for Frances McDormand and Best Supporting Actor for Sam Rockwell) or something like Slumdog Millionaire (Best Picture).

Sam Rockwell in Moon is fantastic.

Sam Rockwell is amazing in everything he's in! Glad to see that guy getting his due!

Dan Hughes

Bubba Hotep, The Mummy (1999), National Treasure, The Rock, Young Guns, Boondock Saints

Paul Cox

Have you seen the original Muppet Movie from 1979?

T.J. Gengler

DOGMA from 1995 - it's heretically hysterical.

devoidzer0

WarGames, Groundhog Day, Throw Momma From the Train, My Cousin Vinny

You've watched Star Wars so now its time for Lord of the Rings.

Armchair Wizard

My Cousin Vinny. Lord of the Rings. Totally different movies from each other lmao. I do second those recomendations.

Jason L

The Matrix, the Matrix, The Matrix. Not many positive female action heroes exist more so than the original bad ass, Carrie Anne Moss as Trinity. Lord of the Rings will always be there, Star Wars, Star Trek, but none of them have new movies coming out in a a year so MATRIX that way when the 4th comes out, you wont be missing out on why Keanu is everywher.

I'd love for there to be one first watch channel on youtube that's not flooded with sci-fi/fantasy/comic book franchises. Jeezus, are there not enough of them already??

shanellericcio

I like your theme idea, I've usually seen most awards season films for the last decade or so--- I'm really on my modern game I just never got around to the flicks that came out before i was born!

shanellericcio

I've seen the first! not the sequels, I feel like I'd need to do the complete set for the channel!

You seem smitten with the 80's and that's a a fertile place to react! If you want to get into it by directors then I recommend a deep dive on Scorcese, DePalma, Mann, O'Russell, Aronofsky, Tarantino. They all have such rich characters and fringe type lead characters. Always well shot and highly complicated plots!

Both are awesome choices. They have also never appeared side by side in any form or fashion. Well played.

The monoculture sucks up all the oxygen more than it ever has and there's like a literal CENTURY of film that doesn't have anything to do with Jedis, Hobbits, mutants, or anything of the sort. Genre and decade hopping is actually really rewarding, go figure!

Though I recommend the Matrix and stand behind that, you definitely have a strong point. To many reactors watch the same shit. I'm so tired of the MCU. I'm really tired of the Thing, getting tired of Kill Bill which sucks since it is my favorite movie. Shanelle, fuck the Matrix and anything else I said, go with some movies that aren't sci fi/fantasy eventually, I agree with them. You owe it to yourself to see ROCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Academy Award winner for best picture 1973? or 72? ROCKY!!!!!! Or start hitting up the 70's because we learned in film history that the 70's are the heyday of artistic film making, experimentation, and artists being able to not be heavily influenced by the studios like they were in the 80's. I say the Matrix because the 4th is coming and if you react to that you will want to be ahead of the game not catching up but everyone above me is right, I think you need to look at all the videos other reactors are doing and stay away from their trends. It is like how every single reactor had to listen to only Queen, then only Pink Floyd, Then Zep, then Beatles and they all follow each other. The guys giving you advice are right. So am I. You do need to see one of the most influential movies ever made if you haven't but look at movies like Rocky or the Godfather 1-2, or even if you do superheroes, stay away from the modern ones and go back to actual historically meaningful films like Superman the Movie with Christopher Reeve. Yeah, please see what everyone else is repetitively doing over and over until they kill the movie for us, with your education and knowledge, you should be doing the movies others don't like Easy Rider, Saturday Night Fever, Witness, or just look up Academy Award Winners and start going down a list. Also, have you ever c

Best picture in 1972 was The Godfather. 1973 was The Sting. 1974 is Godfather Part 2. 1975 is One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest. 1976 is Rocky. I defy anyone to show me a better 5 year run.
