There are a lot differences in this season between the books and the show that were done to narrow down the focus of the show unfortunately.

The ending to this season still shocks me, couldn't believe it when I saw it for the first time, loved Jon's character.

This is exactly where the most recent book left off as well. We've been waiting for 10 years now to see what happened to Jon Snow. What happens next in the show may not be what happens in the book.

We all took this very hard. A lot of people stopped watching the show after this season. To me season 5 was way too dark. That said you absolutely have to watch season 6. Please don’t give up on the show. I recommend starting to watch season 6 soon, but we’ll understand if you need to take a break. So many people had reactions like yours, they were mostly angry, and sad. I mean Jon is so important to the story right?

The show has been dark since the moment they pushed Bran out the window. I would argue season 3 was darker than season 5.

This was a rough season. Just remember, when ever GOT gives you something good they take something bad. However the reverse is also true. I just takes a while to see it.
