Thank you again, for another fun reaction, starting with season three's premiere episode, Magy! Overall... I really enjoy season three, so I am definitely excited for you to be getting into it. It is long and there are quite a few so called filler episodes, but I actually like a lot of them even more than the actual storyline at times too, so I believe that you are still going to really enjoy this season too! I won't say too much more about how I feel towards this season overall, because I don't wish to influence your thoughts any. I hope people haven't said anything about what you should expect from season three in general or in the slightest so that you can judge it solely for yourself. However, I will say that for me... season three most definitely has a much darker feel to it than the rest of the seasons, which I got right away from this premiere episode. Even with the comedy from Lucifer thrown in. And this darker theme is foreshadowed throughout this season's premiere, not only because of the vibes that come from it, but also in Lucifer's final line of the episode when he answers Amenadiel by saying in regards to the Sinnerman, "Something much, much darker." Overall... while this premiere isn't one of my favorite episodes of this season by any means, I do really like the new vibe it has set the season up with. I suspect you will come to see this more as the season continues on. However, overall... I really do love season three as a whole for a number of storylines for certain characters, for a number of scenes, and even for just moments too. Just like I love all the rest of the seasons too. And I'm certain you're going to enjoy all that's to come whether it is your favorite, or your least favorite season. They're Back, Aren't They?- Now... this episode picks right up with Lucifer still in the desert, where he was left in the end of season two's finale. But before we see him again, we see someone driving an armored truck, and upon seeing the man's gun out, as well as his face, we immediately can see he isn't up to any good. And Lucifer soon reveals he recognizes the man and talks about remembering him from the bank heist he stopped before and having left him in his underwear back in season two's premiere episode... Everything's Coming Up Lucifer. And once again... after being confused by Lucifer's strangeness, especially upon seeing his wings, the thief is later once again seen without his clothes, in nothing but his underwear, showing us that Lucifer stole his clothes from him once again. And it's funny how Lucifer dubs him "Mr. Said Out Bitch", after he had asked the thief his name, only for him to respond, "I said out, bitch." by telling Lucifer to get out of the truck when he points his gun at him. So funny. After the thief is gone, Lucifer drives the armored truck until he comes to a roadblock set up by the police looking for the stolen truck and its thief, then goes on to explain to them who he is and that he had come across the thief after having been kidnapped and left to die in the desert. He also tells them to call Chloe to be able to prove to them he's telling the truth. Next... I really enjoy the scene between Lucifer and Linda, once again inside his penthouse after he's returned home and has had a refreshing shower to help him recover for his time in the desert. I love how kind Lucifer is to want to help Linda recover from her ordeal with his mother in a place of luxury, offering him his home to recover in for awhile, as well as everything she loves to eat, and a handsome massage therapist he knows she will like. And clearly she does, because she asks Lucifer to give her the guy's number before she leaves, which is very funny. However, while Linda is grateful for his kindness, she assures him she will be fine, and that she doesn't need so much to heal. But she also senses there's something more to him asking her there, and tells him to tell her the truth behind what he really wants. So, Lucifer reveals to her his wings, which she is completely shocked by, having been told long before now that he had had Maze cut them off. Which is what Lucifer is hoping he can convince Linda to do for him, since Maze is out on one of her hunts for her job. He doesn't want them because he doesn't believe his wings have returned other than so his father can continue to manipulate him, and Lucifer despises himself all the more for them, so he can't let them remain attached to him. Just so you are aware... you will find that Maze isn't in as many episodes in the beginning of this season, because Lesley-Ann Brandt who plays Maze was pregnant at the time this season was being filmed. Which is really wonderful for her and her family. And because of this, she decided to take some time off to have her child and further maternity leave to recover and be with her child before she came back to work. Even though she might pop in every now and again, a part of me missed Maze when I first watched the first half of this season of course. But I am so happy for the actress who plays her too. But back to my thoughts for the episode... Linda finally just turns Lucifer down, refusing to help him cut off his wings for him. But before she does, I love how Linda asks him if angel wings grow back like body hair, and I love his smart aleck response too. That his wings are a punishment from God after he had given his mother her own world to be its creator, believing that God has sent someone down to Earth to do this to him for him. I love that he also says that he's not God's own Mr. Potato Head. So funny. And yet... I love how Linda tries to tell Lucifer that he doesn't yet know why his wings have returned, and that he shouldn't be so quick to believe they're meant to be something negative, or another way of manipulating him, which is why she refuses to cut them off for him. And I respect that. She's right to refuse him. However, we soon find out that Lucifer somehow manages to cut them off himself anyways, upon Amenadiel later finding them on the floor of Lucifer's bathroom. Lucifer then makes his way into the precinct, thinking that everyone there would be worried about him upon his disappearance. Sadly, no one ever knew he was even missing, and you can see that Lucifer is a bit disheartened that no one seemed to care that he had been gone, especially when he sees that Chloe didn't even know he was missing. However, he shrugs it off and goes on to explain to Chloe he had been kidnapped, and that he's eager to find out who had done so, while Chloe seems very unconcerned for him, not really believing him since he has nothing to prove he had been kidnapped, and because he had no idea who did so. Plus... he then goes on to spout off that he believes his father is involved, which makes Chloe believe him even less. However, Lucifer drags Chloe out of her chair and tells her he's going to prove it to her by taking her to the scene of the crime... out into the desert where he woke up. Unfortunately, Chloe continues to think that this whole ruse is Lucifer's elaborate way of avoiding what he had told her in his message he left for her on her phone. Thankfully, she eventually comes around to believing him, when she finally finds another body buried not far from where Lucifer claims he had found himself left abandoned too. I absolutely love Ella throughout this episode. She's adorable, from when she acts out their mystery guy's death found in the desert by Chloe and Lucifer, to her scenes with later on with Lucifer and Amenadiel too. I love how quick she is to try to make friends with Lucifer's brother now that she knows who he is, and how she offers Amenadiel some really good advice by reminding him that when God "crushes his nuts", he does so for a reason and that he just needs to have faith, and Ella definitely has faith in God, which I love about her. I also love how she continuously gushes about their incoming new Lieutenant, who isn't so deserving of her praise. She's so adorable. :) And then... we are introduced to this season's new main character, Lieutenant Marcus Pierce, as he walks into the precinct dressed in his motorcycle gear, carrying his bike helmet in hand. Pierce is played by Tom Welling, who is most famous for playing Clark Kent/Superman in Smallville. Tom Welling has played a few small roles in a few movies since Smallville, but nothing too noticeable until now. And yet Pierce is absolutely different from Clark Kent, and he's much older. But his character in Lucifer is also a real douche, like Lucifer continuously teases Dan about being. However, I think Pierce really is a douche, whereas Dan isn't most of the time. I really like seeing Tom Welling become a part of the cast for this season, but from this one episode, I don't like his character. I like that he's gonna be around to apparently cause friction and trouble for our team. I like the idea of his character, but I just don't like him as a character so far because he's such a jerk towards everyone. Especially Dan, who he says to his face that he's expendable. That's just not okay. I understand that Dan is a corrupt cop, or had been before, but he's really worked very hard to change and to redeem himself, and he's succeeded. I've really grown to love Dan as a character. So I hate how harsh and callous towards Dan Pierce is. But I do like the dynamic established quickly between him and Lucifer. It's strange, but interesting. And both Toms (Tom Ellis and Tom Welling) play off one another well. Next... Amenadiel arrives at the precinct looking for Lucifer, and he then asks him what happened to their mother. I love how Lucifer explains he had explained everything in his text to his brother, only for us to see that Lucifer only texted Amenadiel a string of emoji's to explain what happened and that everything is okay. I love the confusion on Amenadiel's face as he's starring at the emojis while Lucifer is explaining them to him, then looks at his brother like he's saying, "Are you kidding me?", until he realizes that their mother is really gone for good and becomes sad. I appreciate that Lucifer is kind to tell him that their mother loves him and that she will miss him too, then how he also returns his necklace to him as well. I really appreciate that Lucifer took back Amenadiel's necklace before throwing the rest of the sword into the other world along with their mother, knowing that the necklace means a lot to his brother. Lucifer then goes on to try to work through his dilemma of getting kidnapped and his wings back with his brother, who doesn't appear to be listening. When Lucifer sees this, he realizes that his brother is going to go back to being God's most loyal servant and starts to get angry with him for it. However, Amenadiel explains his powers aren't actually back... because him being able to slow down time to save Linda appears to have only been a one time thing. Lucifer then asks him if he's gotten his wings back, only for him to realize how ironic it is that he has gotten his back, when his brother, who is far more loyal to their father than he is, hasn't gotten his wings back. However, Lucifer doesn't actually tell Amenadiel in this moment his wings are back, and I sense it's more because Lucifer doesn't want to hurt his brother or make his brother feel bad about himself for not having them any longer, which I also really appreciate seeing in Lucifer. However, Amenadiel finds Lucifer's wings later on inside his brother's penthouse after Lucifer has cut them off again, which is actually alluded to earlier on when Lucifer first arrives at the precinct, when Dan comes up behind him and slaps him on his back as he walks by, as the slap causes Lucifer to cry out in pain, which we know now is from him cutting his wings off and because his back has yet to heal all the way from him cutting into his flesh to do so. I like this. Ella finally interrupts them upon bringing Lucifer a lead in their case, only for her to become distracted when she sees Amenadiel and officially introduces herself to him as she awkwardly hugs him, saying that any bro of Lucifer's is a bro of hers too. I love how she then starts feeling Amenadiel's muscles upon becoming distracted by them, until Lucifer pulls her out so they can continue on with their case. I love how Amenadiel calls out to Lucifer to send him his next text with actual words next time, and not in emojis, which is pretty funny. When the lead turns out to be nothing, Lucifer grows even more frustrated and when Chloe starts becoming really concerned for him, she offers to help him work through his own connection to their case to try to calm him down. Lucifer goes on to spout off everything about his belief God is behind his abduction and about his wings, how his kidnapping had bene to hurt him and make him pay for sending his mother to another universe, which frustrates Chloe even further because of course she doesn't understand why he's saying all this nonsense she still doesn't understand, even though he is telling her the absolute truth as far as he knows it to be. At last... Lucifer attempts to show her his Devil face in spite of his reluctance because he's afraid of how she will react and how she will feel about him afterwards, not wanting her to run away from him in horror. I absolutely love seeing this gentle side of him upon feeling so vulnerable in this moment with Chloe, but we also see how much he longs for her to really know the full truth about him as well. Because he longs for Chloe to really know him, to trust in him, and to believe in him about everything. And Lucifer does know she deserves to know everything. I love this moment. I just love how gentle Chloe is with him too, and how she assures him she is there for him, no matter what it is he's trying to tell her and show her. Unfortunately, Lucifer is then shocked to discover that his Devil face is now gone, and because he had already cut off his wings and they haven't grown back yet, he cannot prove himself to be the Devil for her like he hoped to after all. And sadly, Chloe takes this as another sign that he's just messing with her, or that he's chickened out to tell her the truth yet again and she gets up to walk away from him feeling so hurt and disappointed by him. Agh!!! My heart breaks for Lucifer here. It's so sad because he really does try to prove to her he is the Devil, and can't. So, so sad. And he looks so hurt that Chloe feels so hurt by him because she thinks that he's only mocking her. Ugh... It is a bit frustrating that once again the truth about Lucifer being the Devil is hidden from Chloe because Lucifer can't reveal his Devil face to her, and couldn't reveal his wings to her in this moment upon him having already cut them off. I am annoyed how this storyline is being dragged out a little bit too, but I also feel it makes sense. And I do continue to enjoy the humor that comes from Lucifer constantly telling everyone the truth about him being the Devil, only for no one to truly believe him aside from Linda. Besides... I would be very afraid of the change in Lucifer's and Chloe's powerful dynamic, since we've no idea how Chloe would truly react to the truth behind Lucifer being the Devil. And Deckerstar must be protected! :) Later... Chloe, Lucifer, and Dan are about to pull off their sting operation in order to catch their dead guy's killers, but before they do, Lucifer takes a moment to speak with Dan about Charlotte upon listening to his conversation with Chloe about how Charlotte is pretending to not even know him. I appreciate how Lucifer attempts to make him feel better, only for Dan to get angry with him about being the one to get him involved with Charlotte in the first place, which is so wrong and unfair of Dan to say. Because it was Lucifer's mom who was manipulating him all the way. Even though Dan can't possibly understand the whole reason why. But Lucifer never got him involved with Charlotte. Dan let her into his own life. So I can't help but feel angry with Dan for blaming Lucifer. Sadly... Dan blames Lucifer for a lot that he really isn't to blame for throughout this entire show. And that's something I don't like about Dan's character at all. Because most of the time, he can't accept when he's to blame and chooses to place the blame on someone else... and Lucifer is always his target because they don't get along for the most part. Lucifer causes a lot of trouble for Dan and can certainly be very callous towards him, even rude, but he isn't to blame for everything that goes wrong in his life like Dan often makes it seem. And then... Lucifer once again gets himself kidnapped, not so much to protect Dan from risking his own life, but because he wants to learn from the kidnappers why they kidnapped him, who hired them to do so, and how they gave him back his wings and stole his Devil face from him. And his plan works. Lucifer is easily able to break free of his bonds and ties them up instead so he can interrogate them. Like expected, they are terrified of him and have no idea what he's talking about because it's clear they have nothing to do with what's happened to him. However, they do reveal that they had a colleague who worked with them to abduct Lucifer the first time, as well as the guy killed in his place, and Lucifer goes to find the real bad guy. And through Dan, we learn that Lucifer's abductor is the guy we see in the beginning of the episode while Chloe, Lucifer, Dan, and Ella are working the crime scene where they find the body, when Dan talks to him about being careful with the evidence he had found. This revelation helps us to realize that the guy had been at the crime scene to pick up the keychain he must have lost when he kidnapped Lucifer and left him there to die, so that the detective wouldn't be able to trace the keychain back to him, instead of him being one of the cops there from Lancaster like the team believed him to be. Thankfully, Dan is able to figure out that the guy was a fraud and possibly their killer after all and they head to his apartment to arrest him, not knowing Lucifer is already there to threaten him. I absolutely love Lucifer's interrogation with his abductor. This is one of my favorite scenes within the entire episode, especially when Lucifer becomes angry and demands that the killer gives God a message upon still believing that his father is behind everything... that he's the one who defines who he is, not his father, only for Lucifer's wings to suddenly return yet again, causing the guy to cry out in fear upon seeing his wings again, while Lucifer is just shocked and more so... angry upon them appearing again and to ask him how he's doing this to him. I was certainly shocked by this when I first watched this episode too. Fantastic!!! I absolutely love the mystery behind Lucifer's wings coming back again and again, and his Devil face disappearing. And yes... I love the lighting coming through the windows behind Lucifer when he first enters the apartment that makes it appear that his wings are out again. Brilliant! And then... the killer reveals one more piece of the puzzle behind the mystery to Lucifer's kidnapping, when he lets slip the name of who hired him to adduct Lucifer. The Sinnerman, who is revealed to be some big mysterious crime boss and a real scary guy, who has apparently threatened to kill the abductor if he is ever caught and arrested. But before Lucifer can learn anymore from him, Chloe and Dan arrive to arrest him. I also really love this brief moment between Lucifer and Chloe, when she concerningly asks him what happened to him, only for Lucifer to darkly respond he doesn't know, before he then walks away from her and leaves. You can tell she's worried about him upon seeing just how deeply troubled he is by what's happening to him. Next... I really like how Chloe finally stands up to their new boss in the end, as she defends herself and Lucifer, saying that their partnership... as bizarre as their methods may be, works. And they do have a fantastic closing rate. And surprisingly, Pierce actually seems to accept this, if not even agree with her. He then tells her that their killer has been released on bail, which isn't good. And later, we discover that the killer's fear of being killed if he were to get arrested was well founded, upon Chloe and Lucifer finding his body brutally strung up beneath a pier. Yikes! And lastly... my final favorite scene is in the end when Lucifer reveals his wings to Amenadiel, and his brother tries to convince Lucifer that perhaps this is God's way of showing him that he's been forgiven. So far throughout the first two seasons, I've gotten a sense that Lucifer deep down has always wished to find redemption and to earn forgiveness. Or at least I've sensed so. So it's sad when he shouts at Amenadiel and asks him what makes him think he wants to be redeemed. I still believe Lucifer wants to find redemption because Lucifer really is good, in spite of his devilish side. A good man who despises being blamed for everyone else's sins like he always has been. A man who is deeply hurt by being blamed for everyone else's evil deeds. However, right now, Lucifer is just so, so angry, and confused. Even scared. He doesn't really know what to think, other than that his wings must be some kind of lesson from their father, or a way to torment him further. Another manipulation. I understand his fear. But more so... I love the moment Lucifer asks Amenadiel if he's ever heard of the Sinnerman, and then goes on to share that the more he thinks about who's really behind his kidnapping, the more he believes their father isn't involved at all, but someone much, much darker. And you can really see the fear in Lucifer's eyes upon coming to this realization, which means that this Sinnerman is a real threat. I love this new mystery behind the Sinnerman, and what he or she might want with Lucifer. Absolutely phenomenal!! Thank you so, so much for another fantastic reaction, dear friend!!! Now, in regards to this season's format... this season has a lot of so called filler episodes that really don't really have a whole lot to do with the season's major arc involving the Sinnerman. And while most fans of Lucifer find this to be really annoying, I actually like a number of these "filler" episodes more than the actual major storyline throughout the season for various reasons. I know I am in the minority, but... c'est la vie! With that being said... I believe that the creators and writers came up with so many great ideas for episodes that really don't have much to do with the major story they're trying to tell, and they didn't want to exclude them, so they chose to make this season longer in order to be able to give us more Lucifer. Plain and simple. Also... there is a midseason finale and a midseason premiere. The midseason finale is episode ten and the midseason premiere is actually episode twelve. Episode eleven like I will explain momentarily... is actually a bonus episode that has nothing to do with what happens in the previous episode. Now, there are actually three bonus episodes throughout season three that don't take place within the overarching storyline of this season at all. Episode eleven just as I mentioned above, as well as episodes twenty-five and twenty-six, which actually makes episode twenty-four the true season finale of season three. With this being said... I would highly recommend you watch episodes twenty-five and twenty-six before you reach episodes twenty through twenty-four. I would actually recommend you watch these two bonus episodes after you watch episode fourteen. Because while episode twenty-five is a bonus episode and mostly stands out from the overarching storyline, there are things you come to learn about a particular character this season where watching episodes fourteen and twenty-five back to back makes a lot of sense. And it would be great for you to watch episode twenty-six afterwards too. This way... you can watch this season's true finale... episode twenty-four, and then get straight into season four with season four's premiere. You don't have to of course. All of this is just a suggestion. Whether you do so, or you simply choose to just continue watching these episodes in the order they are in on Netflix... it's perfectly okay with me. I've no doubt that you will enjoy them all either way. :) Please let me know if all of this makes sense to you, or if you need me to explain my thoughts better. I wanted to explain all of this to you now because you will no doubt begin to wonder why his season feels so different from the rest, and other people will undoubtedly attempt to tell you things about this season to try to make you dislike it. I believe you will enjoy all that's to come nonetheless, because I can see just how much you truly love Lucifer throughout all of your reactions so far. So... Thank you, Magy! This is far and away the LONGEST season of Lucifer, and it will drag a bit but when the main story gets rolling it will be awesome! There are surprises in store that will really blow your mind!

Do not know if anyone has mentioned this bit of trivia Magy but the new boss that you said you did not like is played by Tom Welling-Clark Kent/Superman on Smallville series which ran for at least 10 seasons,
