I’m not a huge DC fan, but I don’t dislike it. I think it can take itself too seriously at times. Unlike Marvel (Kevin Feige), their isn’t one guy in charge of all the movies which can be bad if you’re trying to create a universe, but it also means all the movies don’t have the exact same feel to them, which is one thing I don’t like about Marvel. DC also tends to be a bit darker in tone, which goes back to Deadpool 2’s joke. Once you’re done with these I would also recommend The Watchmen (movie), not TV show, unless you want to watch the show. I’m guessing you’ll be watching Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey also even though they aren’t needed for Justice League. I’d also recommend the original Superman movies (most people’s favorite) and the first two Batman movies ‘89 and ‘91 for a different take on the characters.

I'll never understand the hate or the overwhelming negative critic reviews this movie has received. To me it's one of the most under-rated comic book movies of all time

"That's not normal" LMAO That was a funny line. I think if you enjoyed this movie you would really love Smallville. Maybe after you finish Lucifer or something.

Loved your reactions to this, you're gonna love some of the DC moments coming up!

I was really disappointed by this movie when it came out -- even though I expected to like it -- and am still disappointed by it. I think it and the subsequent DC failures were all attributable to one thing: Zack Snyder's ego. I think Zack Snyder always cared more about his own opinion and what he thought would be good than thinking about his audience. He has always found a specific audience that idolizes him, but it's not a wide enough audience for the movies to appeal to the masses. He's more concerned with, say, going back to complete a movie HIS WAY for the wrong reasons that he left originally for the right reasons. Why didn't I like Man of Steel? 1) Didn't like the non-sequential inclusion of his Smallville years 2) Didn't like that Lois Lane was shown so early tracking down his identity 3) Didn't like that he let Jonathan Kent die 4) Didn't like the entire plot device of the Earth's atmosphere being toxic to Kryptonians 5) Didn't like the apparent GLEE with which Metropolis was destroyed without apparent concern for the lives being lost. Even earlier, Clark was shown taking actions which would no doubt cause human deaths without concern. 6) Didn't like that this was so different a story about how the people of Earth learned of Superman's existence - that basically almost no one was aware of him when Zod showed up -- and no one thought of him as Superman. 7) Didn't like the Krypton sequence -- especially the winged creature that Jor-El rode, and didn't like the liquid-metal robots and the cheesy storytelling by Zod with the liquid-metal backdrop. 8) And now because of what we learn in Zack Snyder's Justice League, none of the scenes with Swanwick make sense.

My two favorite actors in this version are the two who played Lara and Faora -- Ayelet Zurer (also in Daredevil) and Antje Traue (also in Dark).

I would love for Magy to watch the 1978 Superman and 1980 Superman II.

This was a fun watch! The movie grows on me over time, but it's always got a big piece of my heart because of the Hans Zimmer soundtrack. The song at the very end... it just blows me away.

HAHA, Your points didn't like is almost all, why i like this movie. For me is one of 3 best DC movie ever. For me is 10/10* score. :-)

Superman 1978 was such an important movie in regards of the superhero genre. I also think Maggie will like it as it more down to earth, allot more romantic! Its funnier and Christoper Reeve just portays the most charming/clumsy Clark aswell as a charismatic superman, no doubt that Maggie will love it!

When the city started to get destroyed and I saw Laurence Fishburne I really wanted him to into Morpheus.

Damien

Can you react to Smallville pls ! 👌🏾

I think people get too caught up in how it was told beforehand rather then just enjoy a new take on it. Most of these concepts came from a darker comic anyway so it's not like it was all Snyder's ideas. I just hope when they do reboot Superman again we don't have to watch General Zod a third time

Great movie

Daniel R

Yeah Snyder didn't even write the story, Christopher Nolan and David Goyer did and they did Batman Begins together so the similarities are definitely there.
