Hi everyone, firstly I'd like to say thank you for all your support and interest!

Recently, I've had a few people reach out to me with feedback about my Marceline and Bubblegum piece, and I've been thinking about wether I really should keep it behind the "pay wall". While it's not 100% original, what inspired me to make it was the desire to pay homage to that exact art style and see it in an animated and interactive context. And, since I finished it after I launched on Patreon I felt I should keep the full work exclusive for all you Patreons out there. Having a look back now I feel maybe because it is quite obviously another artist's style perhaps I really should put it up for free, but I'd like to run by all of you since we're a community here and it's really your decision as much as mine So...whaddaya think?

I think when you base it on other peoples stuff, might be best to put it up for free, where as if it's mostly original, put it in Patreon. That being said I'm happy with what you're doing right now. It's literally $1 for access to your flash games so anyone complaining at that is being cheap. Don't let them worry you CBee.

Cheers! Yes, that makes sense, thanks for the reply and input :D

About content that use other peoples stuff, ask them first and don't forget to mention them (on a "credit" page). Except that, in my opinion, you can do both: exclusive content for patrons. But one day/two days/one week/what-you-want day later, your content (only the release version, not the WiP or "bonus") becomes free for everyone. Don't forget to take into account that some people will download and publish your works on others forums and sites. I think that publishing a bit of your content for free on your page can attract people to your patreon page.

I think you should give patrons behind the scenes material and input into what they'd like to see next. Trying to keep the flash games Patron only is a difficult prospect. I've already seen all your games leaked on SWFchan.

Yup, I just saw them too. And I actually feel kinda proud that my work has gotten to the point where people go to the effort of sharing. The only thing I'm really concerned with is making sure Patrons feel like they aren't neglected. So yeah, behind the scenes stuff like extra content and input makes a lot of sense.

Ouch

Do a public release after a week or 2. Gives incentive to support you for early access to the work while appeasing those who can't.

Right, kinda like how some can get WIP previews. Now that this work is shared outside of my control I can run with it and release it myself a after a time limit. Kinda like how MnF games are now releasing their old complete works for free.

Side note: while "you" say this is behind a paywall one of your patrons uploaded this to swfchan within hours of your release both the princess peach and bubblegum one unfortunately.

I personally say release them for free after a little while, like a week or two. But also have a small amount of patron only animations/games. Just a thought.
