Burp Reaction Headcanons - Ben Tennyson (Ben 10) (Patreon)

Canonically, Ben Tennyson has an insatiable appetite for junkfood, guzzling down chili fries and smoothies by the dozens. He's a hungry, shameless teen who can pack it away with the best of 'em. He's also gotten good and bloated a few times in one of the shows too.

Also canonical (as shown in the pic above) is the fact that Ben has belched dozens of times throughout the shows he's appeared in.

Ben's burps range in volume and length. If he just slurped down a Mr. Smoothie at record pace, he's gonna pull back from his empty cup and just let out a long, rolling belch that drags on for three or four seconds. But if he's stuffed, he's gonna let loose a short but HUGE burp.

Ben's also crude enough that any time he eats something really filling or fast, he'll burp to punctuate the end of whatever he's eating and talk about how tasty his food was.

If he's chugging a smoothie or soda too fast, he's gonna take a break to burp, sigh, and carry on like nothing.

Ben's not exactly shameless, so whenever he's around Gwen or Kevin, he's very casual about burping.

If he just finished eating a hearty meal and burped loudly, Ben will sigh contently, pat his stomach and mutter, "Ahhh, that hit the spot."

If he lets out an especially raunchy burp, Ben will comment on the taste or smell.

"Heh, just as good coming up as it is going down!"

"Oof, it didn't taste like that going down, jeez..."

"Whew! Still taste the peppers on that one!"

If Ben is stuffed, he'll slump back, caressing his bulging belly contently, then just throw his head back and belch so hard that his gut jiggles from the force of it.

After a monstrous belch like that, Ben will just groan about how stuffed he is.

"Ohhhhh man, not even Upchuck could eat another bite..." Ben mutters as he pats his bulging belly contently.

"Haaaaahhh...ohhhh I'm so full..." Ben moans as he caresses his round, gurgling gut.

"Urrrgh...I'm gonna burst..."

Greasy junkfood especially, like his chili fries, makes Ben insanely gassy. So if he's stuffed on chili fries, he's gonna be rubbing his belly and burping constantly for the next half hour, and they will NOT be pleasant...

Grease also tends to give Ben heartburn, which often leads to him getting some painful hiccups.

Ben will hiccup loudly, grunt, hiccup again, then it will morph into a raunchy belch, followed by another one right after.

Due to his transformations, Ben's loudest burps will come from whenever he's morphed into Upchuck or Heatwave.

If Upchuck just ate tons of whatever and morphs back into Ben, his stomach will be flat, but the gas will be so immense that when Ben belches, it will echo for hundreds of feet and make the ground itself quiver.

If he ate something as Heatwave, then when he morphs back into Ben, he'll grimace, then let out a giant, smoky belch that rolls out of him for several seconds.

Those are the only instances when Ben gets sheepish after burping and will either cover his mouth in embarrassment, or chuckle sheepishly and excuse himself.

Ben's also incredibly skilled at burping on command.

He's gotten into burping contests with Kevin constantly, even roped Gwen into a few.

He can gulp down air and force out quick, rapidfire burps, or swallow down enough air into his stomach to push out a really solid, brassy belch.

His response is usually just to smack his lips or thump his chest to clear his pipes or to work out a sharp afterburp from any air he didn't get out.

Canonically, Ben can burp-talk as well, burping entire sentences out too. So it's very easy for him to burp the alphabet or whole phrases without any soda or food in his gut.

Ben will make games of it, letting Kevin or Gwen come up with all sorts of ridiculous phrases for him to burp out, and to see how long his sentences can get.

Even Grandpa Max gets a kick out of Ben's burping talents and comes up with lyrics or movie quotes for Ben to burp out, which he always does.
