Kuserran Heroes Update - 3 (Patreon)

Finally finished Lethe's character sheet for Sairr'rai (hopefully I got that right)!  Thanks so much for your support, and I'm sorry it took me so long.  Let me know if you would like me to send you the High-Res image.

It's been a long, long time since I last did one of these, but I'm glad I did, because this was actually a lot of fun to do.  I learn a lot from drawing other people's characters and sort of breaking myself out of my box to match or adapt to a different style of character that my brain wouldn't come up with on my own.  You can expect to see Sairr'rai's cameo pretty soon* (probably when we pop back over to check in on Max).

So like I said in the update a couple weeks back, I want to rekajigger the reward tiers to make sure that what I've got is tenable for the long-term.  My priority is telling Kiva's story, and it has to remain priority number one, because it's a long story and I'm a slow artist and I don't want to still be working on telling it in like, 2050.  I want to explore the countless OTHER stories I could tell in this setting and this world too.  I need to shrink this queue so that I start feeling like I can keep up, especially once we start advertising again.  Part of the evolution of this comic and this Patreon is kinda figuring out what my time is worth, and how much time I have, and while I hate to put a pricetag on my art, I need to draw a line somewhere so that I can make sure I have plenty of time to keep working on the main comic.

IF YOU ARE ON THIS LIST TODAY, don't worry, you're still getting everything I promised before.  Basically, you're all getting the Landlord-tier treatment, with a full-colored character sheet like this one.  Just, be patient with me, cuz it's going to take me a while to grind through it.  Also, if you need to cancel your subscription for any reason, I still fully intend to deliver on these promises (unless you specifically ask me not to.)  Please don't worry about tossing money my way if you need to take care of yourself and your family first.  For the sake of fairness, I'm going to try to prioritize the higher tiers and current/longest-term subscribers, but cancelling your subscription will not remove you from this list.  Again, this is me, trying to do the best I can to thank you for your generous support; nothing more, and nothing less.

GOING FORWARD (applicable to future subscribers):
All three of the upper tiers will still be getting cameos if and when I can fit characters in to the background of the main comic.

Landlord Tier - Only people who subscribe at Landlord Tier from this point forward will get a full-colored character sheet. These are taking me more and more time to do because I want them to look good when they are done.  At the current rate, I'll spend about a whole day on one, and there's six in the queue currently.  You will still have the most flexibility out of all the tiers to define your character and their role in this world.  Although they will still only be featured in cameos and are unlikely to have a hugely major role in Kiva's story, this is the tier where, if you want to, you can have your character gather and mobilize others in an effort to accomplish some kind of purpose in Kuserra, and I'll sort of try to factor that in to my narrative while I'm worldbuilding.  For example, Quinn's character Frey is managing a library of sorts and gathering Ancestor knowledge in an effort to learn more about gods and Vim, while Crafty Coyote is rallying former slaves and freed indentured servants in the untamed zone to fight against the more despotic and oppressive Landlords.

Redtail Tier - You still get to suggest a character that will join the Redtails as a low-ranked officer or grunt. You can send me a reference, toss me a bunch of details about them, their combat style, what you want them to do for the gang, their attitude and whatnot, and I will do them up an uncolored sketch. Your character will still become a part of the city's lore and be featured in background cameos doing what they do if and when it makes sense for them to be there.

Trader Tier - You still get to suggest a character to be a trader in the marketplace.  You can send me a reference, specify their general look, name and species, as well as what they sell at their market stall or shop or, as is the case of Robyn's character Akira who is a blend of an adventurer, scavenger and trader, you can specify what else they might do as their profession or what they do to get by.

Scavenger and Squatter tiers are unchanged at this time!

I'm... honestly humbled by how many of you are willing to toss money my way.  The demand for my art is actually far higher than I ever could have imagined, and I fear that it will only get higher the better I get as an artist.  The amount of art I can produce in any given week remains really low, so I have to do... SOMETHING to try and limit the demand.  There aren't a lot of knobs I can turn.  There may yet be a time where I have to rekajigger reward tiers again, but that'll be a problem for future me.
