Kiva Warmup (Patreon)

Just a super quick warm-up of Kiva today.

This is what I've started calling a "Tier-1 sketch." Normally I'd reduce its opacity, go over it again with a Tier-2 sketch, then (if I'm still not satisfied), I'll trace over that once more with a Tier-3 sketch before I start inking the final lines. None of these sketches are visible in a completed image, usually. Often they will contain construction lines and other helpful messy marks like that. They are only there to help me refine and refine again how I want my expressions or poses to look.

It's rare that my Tier-1 sketches are worth sharing. Normally they are a blobby mess.
