An Update Regarding Patreon's Sales Tax Policy (Patreon)

Ah, it seems the various governments of the world have caught the scent of blood from the internet waters, and, as governments are wont to do, they've decided to go after it.

What does this mean for my Patrons?  I'm going to be making sure I do whatever needs to be done to ensure you are not charged any sales tax for your donations.  I am not offering concrete goods, and I am not selling anything at all, so you should not be charged sales tax for your donations.

What this means is probably that I'm going to be culling my benefits and updating the wording of a lot of my tiers to make sure that it is very clear I'm not selling anything from this website.

It will likely still depend on the country you live in, unfortunately.  I don't know if some countries will enforce sales tax on donations or other offerings.
