This villian was another of Michael's ideas.  The Hand That Feeds You.  See, on the previous page, Super Puppy severed it from his owner with his laser vision, then it... grew eyes, and a mouth, and sentience, and an entire army of disembodied fingers with stick legs... all in the space of 4 panels without anyone noticing.  Incredible.

Aside from the original silly concept for the villian pitched by Michael, I really had no idea what to do with the character or why it was evil or why I was even drawing it, so you can probably guess that, much like the Dog Catcher, it doesn't last very long in the series.

Speaking of which, crammed in on this page is also Super Puppy's first encounter with the Dog Catcher.  Without any context at all as to how he got there, where he came from, how Super Puppy knew he was evil, where they got their weapons, or how the fight started, but they appear to be caught in some sort of standoff.  Dog Catcher's gun was probably inspired by a weapon from Earthworm Jim that fired in multiple directions on a 2-D plane.  My young self thought that having it fire in YET more directions is CLEARLY more awesome and almost certainly not at all a waste of ammo.  Especially those barrels firing directly into the ground.

Super Puppy doesn't even seem to know how his... shield... gun thing works.  Also, I'm not sure he would need it anyway, because I'm pretty sure he's bulletproof, like every good superhero.  Dog Catcher isn't bulletproof, but luckily for him he can just run away while being shot at, since no one will chase him or wonder where he's off to.
