I've been thinking a lot lately about what I'd like to term, "Design Evolution."  I jumped into this comic project with both feet, not really thinking very hard about planning or where it would eventually wind up.  When I drew Kiera here, it was... quite possibly, the third time in my entire life I've ever tried to draw a female, and coming from a background with interests falling squarely in the realm of male homosexuality, attempting to draw a female without using any sort of reference image was an enormous mistake.  I'm still not quite happy with her in the final version of Page 3, but again, after redrawing it too many times, it was time to move forward, and by now I've settled on a design for her that's more or less consistent and satisfying to my eye.

Most of my characters are subject to Design Evolution though, just by the very nature of my own art skill improving and incorporating new stylistic choices and habits.  What's most important to me is that they are instantly recognizable, even despite small changes or even large changes, such as wardrobe.  I fully intend to have the characters naked, Kiva probably more than most others, and it'll be fun to dress them up in different clothing from time to time as well.  :P
