One of my Patrons suggested that I talk a little more about the world and lore and characters of this story, so I think it might be a good idea to reveal a tiny bit more about it on these kinds of posts, instead of just repeatedly ripping mercilessly into my old art.

The non-Kiva character in this comic doesn't have a name, so I've just always jokingly referred to him as the Soup Nazi, due to his regard for soup and his general hatred towards everything else.  I don't want to get too spoilery, so I'm just going to talk a little bit about Mr. Soup Nazi here and how he runs his business.

This "ramen" is the equivalent of a high-class meal in Kuserra.  It's warm, it includes an entire rat, and there's something in the "broth" that resembles a vegetable, perhaps.  A meal like this probably cost Kiva about 7-10 watts, and he would have had to pay up front before even getting a sniff of it.  To put things in perspective, 1-2 watts is the typical cost of a filling meal, if you aren't too picky.

Food isn't all that easy to come by in Kuserra, and if you're able to secure a consistent enough supply to run your own business, you're already doing quite well for yourself.  Not everyone can afford to eat at the Soup Nazi's Ramen stand, but there's plenty who can, so the Soup Nazi rakes in a fair number of watts each day.  However, both the Redtail Gang AND the Landlord for the area will send thugs to collect their respective versions of "taxes," so, like most merchants, the Soup Nazi is still only barely getting by.
