There's still time to vote in Round 5 of the character poll! I'm actually quite pleased to see that more Kiva art is still popular, but Secret Mystery Character, let's goooo! I'll probably keep the poll up for another week, make sure enough people have a chance to see it. I doubt I'll be ready to post extra bonus art this week anyway.

And in case you missed it, Kiera art is available on all the usual places, along with extra fanservicy variants in other internet places because... sometimes (literally all of the time) that seems to be the only way to catch people's attention. Sigh.

Don't get me wrong though, it's not like I have anything against drawing that sorta stuff, clearly. I guess I just wish that... I didn't need to? Perhaps my wish is that we lived in some magical unrealistic fantasy world where my art and stories were strong enough to be read without first needing to lure people in with promises of nudity. IDK. It's probably a very unrealistic wish to have. I can only keep trying to improve.

Comic this week? No, it ended up being a super busy weekend and I'm way behind on The Next Page and actually you know what? Sure, I'll use Cinco de Mayo as my excuse. We had a great party last night! I'm not even hungover!

Drawing: Page 196, some other stuff!

Reading: House of Leaves

Playing: Eiyuden Chronicle

Ramble:

The mystery character! Secret mystery character! Wooooo! HYPE!

I told y'all on Discord that the explanation for who the secret character is or what they're about would require a ramble of its own. She hasn't officially won the poll yet, so I don't know if you've really EARNED that yet, but people do seem to be interested in something that's secret and mysterious. And that's good!

(Spends hours typing out several thousand word ramble, deletes whole thing)

Hm. You know, I'm actually not sure how to say what it is I'm trying to say. Words are really just a terrible form of communication. Evidenced quite plainly by the fact that I can write thousands of words and still fail to say the thing.

So I guess I'll just jump straight to the point: What would you all think if... I maybe started on a second ( third?) comic? Perhaps in order to grow my skills by drawing some very different things? I don't want to be one of those creators that is juggling a million unfinished projects, (been there, done that, isn't worth) but I do feel as though I've stagnated in a lot of ways, lately, and I've begun to wonder if maybe what I need is to dive face-first into a color palate that isn't overwhelmingly dominated by sickly greens and browns. Where I'll have to force myself to draw beautiful outfits and structures, rather than plain rags and broken concrete. This hypothetical new comic would be in the same universe, but on a different planet, allowing me the freedom to explore a very different setting and perhaps even clue some people in as to why things in Kuserra are how they are.

Does that sound like something any of you are interested in? Or would you rather I focus on Kiva's story and not try to juggle too many things at once. Lemme know! I want your opinions, and you know where to reach me.

For the comic ideas depending on how you feel with an extra comic how about short comic stories, like Riley's story you did previously. So you can play with short stories that can fill out more lore or even just be different in general without the extra stresses of having another long storyline to have to keep up with alongside Kiva's story. This could lead to once you finish this story you already have one in the mix or a side comic got a some more interest from fans or your own inspiration. So it can indicate something you can expand on more with a long-form comic when you feel you can manage 2 or more at once.

I was thinking of the second comic being shorter, overall, than Kiva's story, but you make a good point. It might be better to break it up into chunks that are even smaller still, so I can bounce over to it whenever I need a refresh but not have to commit to it long term.

I was thinking an alternate universe where they were in a normal modern society. Would they still be dark and gloomy or more relaxed?

Hmmm... I think Kiva might still be grouchy. The rest of them might be doing okay though!
