Summer Goat was the first series of mine that I felt really took off for me.

It was during a bit of an experimental, throw-all-caution-to-the-wind type of mindset where I was starting to combine layers and paint freely over top of everything, rather than keeping each part of the process confined to individual layers. Instead of trying the usual route of sketch, lineart, flats, and then shading layer by layer, the process was starting to become more a sketch, refine sketch, start painting, combine, paint, combine, paint... and so on forever. Until I stopped, anyway! It felt a bit more free and spontaneous, if at the cost of clean and orderly layer structuring within the session files themselves. I also remember just not really having a plan going in, and just creating the uh, "story" as I went along.
