Hey hey hey! TOC 1.0 is now up and running. TOC 2.0 coming soon.

What is TOC, you may be wondering? TOC (Talk to OsCar) is a protocol, and a server which connects to the AIM service.

Compared to OSCAR, TOC is more simple, however it is not as flexible and doesn't contain all the features of OSCAR. It does, however, contain the essential features to communicate with the AIM service: IMs, Chat rooms, Warnings, and Privacy Management.

It was made public by AOL itself, so tons of clients used it. Want to make your own? Go ahead, it's blazingly simple, see: https://wiki.nina.chat/wiki/Protocols/TOC/1.0

Want to test some clients? Check our small list, I will be adding more clients soon: https://wiki.nina.chat/wiki/Clients/AOL_Instant_Messenger#TOC. I'd recommend Tik, which you can get here:

https://tik.sourceforge.net/ -- works on Windows, Mac, Linux, Solaris, whatever, it's Tcl/Tk based, and I have it running on my modern M1 Mac, as you can see in the screenshot. Yes, chat rooms work. ;)
