It's been a while since our last regular update, and we assure you that we will be returning to a more consistent post schedule to let you know what's going on. We've been stretched very thin with updates for AIM/ICQ, AOL, and Escargot 2.0, but some big changes have happened and have laid the groundwork for even more updates, much more consistently.

We recently updated our AIM/ICQ server with a lot of fixes and updates, and the more major or noteworthy ones are:

  • Presence totally rewritten

  • Full ICQ support for ICQ 2000 through 6; including directory and lookup

  • Support for AIM 6 through 7 complete, with patch coming soon

  • Chat client events implemented (for AIM 6+)

  • Improvement in handling of client capabilities

  • AIM idle time reporting should update consistently

  • AIM away messages/list icons should now work

  • AIM profiles now updated consistently

  • Some basic updates to the NINA web site with more to come

  • Added interoperability between the "Last Call" AIM chat room and the #last-call Discord channel

There will be more updates and fixes in the coming week such as full BART (buddy icons, sounds, expressions, etc).

Plus some other things we have in the works which are coming very, very soon:

  • AIM Search Directory support

  • Full ICQ 7 support

  • AOL pre-alpha also coming very soon thanks to this update, we'll be finishing that up as well

  • Return of the podcast

This is a "forklift" update, meaning that a lot has been changed between versions so we encourage you to just use the service normally and if you notice any issues, please let us know. We plan on returning to our weekly server updates and daily fixes (when required) from this point forward.

We want to thank your continued support, because without monthly donors none of this would be possible at the scale we're growing to. It's costing us an awful lot, but the growth has been really amazing, and again, without you we wouldn't be able to do it. So thank you again! We love you!

P.S. Don't forget we also have AIM on Android and iOS ;-)
