This is where you find out that base humans are EXTREMELY durable in the One Piece World. They can live through most things that would kill us easily. Humans by themselves can live up to 140 normally in OP so yeah. Pell Supremacy!

In order to avoid stretching the page on your Patreon, I'll be posting my actual comment as a reply to this disclaimer. 🤣 EDIT: Crap, it didn't work.  Sorry!

As you mentioned at the start of your video, this was the Alabasta Arc's finale, but it ended with that random scene of Pell in front of his grave. This has never been confirmed or denied, but regarding Pell's survival, fans have theorized (for over a decade now) that Oda was forced to un-kill Pell due to the character's death coinciding with tragic, real world events. If I'm not mistaken, the One Piece manga wrapped up its Alabasta Arc in the Fall of 2011, Pell magically reappeared sometime after 9/11 occurred, and then, a new arc begins with no explanation as to what transpired. For a talented writer like Oda, that felt like a weird way to end the arc. After the events of 9/11, global efforts were made in the world of entertainment to play it safe and be sensitive to the tragedy. Scenes in upcoming media that might remind folks of 9/11 were rewritten (such as Stitch's space ship from the Lilo & Stitch movie, which was originally meant to be an airplane). As for reruns, if scenes couldn't be edited out, the movies and television episodes would be taken off the air entirely (like an episode of Pokémon where a giant Tentacruel destroys a city skyscraper). Fans have theorized that Oda's editor, or perhaps a publisher from the weekly magazine his chapters were serialized in, told him that Pell needed to be shown alive, and honestly, I've seen a lot of compelling points to support this theory. - Baroque Works is a criminal organization that commits terrorism. - They wanted to kill scores of people for the sake of achieving Crocodile's goals. This could be seen as an act of terrorism. - Pell took the bomb knowing he'd die; this one's a stretch, but the act could be seen as suicide by bomb (which could make people think of suicide bombers) - Pell's death took place while he was flying in the air (which is where numerous people lost their lives on 9/11) - Pell made a noble sacrifice that cost him his life, but that bomb would have killed him either way. He made the selfless choice to save others, even though he'd still die. Likewise, passengers from the fourth hijacked plane on 9/11 stopped the terrorists from reaching their target, but the plane still went down. - An act of terrorism caused mass destruction in Alabasta, which, due to the civil war, was very crowded. Two of the planes on 9/11 struck targets in NYC, which is a very populated city. Again, this is merely speculation by the fans. It wouldn't be the first time that someone interfered with Oda's creative process though, so it's not impossible. As the person above me stated, death doesn't often occur in the present timeline of One Piece, so perhaps people read too much into Pell's survival. After all, Oda has stated that, in Luffy's opinion, suffering from the death of your dream is a worse fate than actually dying, and following your dream is a big theme in One Piece. Thank you for coming to my longass TED Talk this afternoon, lmao. If anyone actually read all this, kudos!

I understand why you're jumping to Ep. 141, but I'm kinda sad that you didn't watch the next episode. It was a nice little story that further explores Chopper's past, AND you get to see him interact 1-on-1 with Robin in the present. It's been a while since I watched these, but I think each of the Straw Hats got a dedicated episode. The other ones are boring filler though, instead of cute Chopper filler. 😆 Anyways, I'm looking forward to the new arc. See you next time!
