Future Plans - Survey Results (Patreon)

TLDR: Thanks & I'm proposing new tiers for more content that you can vote for.

Thank you everyone who took some time out to complete the survey over the weekend. I know it's a pain in the butt, but the results really help me out as I try to figure out where I want to focus my time going forward. 

I thought I'd take a moment to go over some results and kind of talk about what my take aways from this is. What I'm considering going forward. 

Open Trade & Con Artist

Honestly, not much to say here. Most everyone is pleased with the direction we are going, and would like more. 

I'm likely going to start writing ahead on Con Artist and try to figure out where the end point is. Just so it has a direction. I'll admit it was off to a rough start, but I think I have a solid idea on where we are going. 

Open Trade, I'm going to have to figure out something compelling to continue telling the story beyond Stephanie's trades. But with Xavier doing some trades and I have some ideas for Steph, I think it will be good. 

New Comics!

No surprise here either. Most everyone would like additional stories as well. I would like to make more as well. It's a matter of carving out time. This is where I start to hint to the idea of changing up pricing and tiers so I'm able to dedicate more time to making more stuff. 

Bonus Content

This was extremely helpful, folks. This is an area where it is a bit hard to tell month to month what people like or if anyone enjoys what is put up. This is also probably the area where I'll take the most immediate action from. 

So, I think this month, we'll wrap up the Beta Reading Team experiment. It can come back in different form, or different story. But for now I'm going to let it rest. Part of the idea was to put a bit of a fire under my ass to get scripts done and really I've ended up writing the day before or the day of. Hasn't been accomplishing what I hoped. 

Instead I'll go ahead and focus on some more art and caps bonus content starting in May. I like doing those too, and they do give opportunities for writing and working on scripts. So I think would be a win-win. 

Also, I want to address the suggestion of Guest Spots in the comic. We did this during Con Artist. I think it was fun and worked well. I wouldn't mind revisiting it at some point when we going to a point where Stephanie would be around other people. There are some new rules with Patreon about how we do stuff like this, but I'll say totally possible in the future. 

The Way Forward - Revised Tiers

I was considering doing something were there was just one tier. After reading stuff and suggestions, I'm not sure that is the right fit. 

Also, I'll note before I go any further:  Any cost changes to tiers will not affect you.
I cannot delete a tier or change the price of a tier.  I can change the benefits of a tier. So any new prices would apply to new patrons, or if you choose to move to the higher price. 

Revised Reader Tier - $3 or $5
Pretty much the same as it is now.

• Con Artist : Aftermath
• Status Update Pin Up
• Potential New Comic

Revised Decider Tier - $6 or $10

• Open Trade
• Con Artist : Aftermath
• Status Update Pin Up
• Potential New Comic
• Development Sketches
• Decider Polls
• Additional Pin Ups
• Sketch Caps (Pin up + Short Stories)
• Vote for the New Comic

I keep flirting with the idea of a higher third tier. Maybe I could justify it if there was a comic at their tier. But it never feels right. 

So part of the motivation for this is I want to carve out more time and this helps me do that. Patrons wanted more control over being able to hit goals to unlock more pages. If I change the unlock goals to $$ instead of the number of Patrons, I can give you more control.

I also want you to feel like these revised tiers are worth it.
If you did not upgrade and stayed where you are, you would still get access to all the same stuff. 

The more I think on it, it feels like the right choice is the $5 & $10 price scale, but let's talk about goals for a moment. 

Goals!

So we have unlock goals as a feature on Patreon. As we have reached 100 and 200 Patrons it has unlocked additional pages. It's hard to get new Patrons. Changing it to $$ amounts helps put the control in your hands as you can increase or decrease your amount as you see fit. 

We are currently at $700 (a month). Here are some potential future goals and unlocked content:

• $800 - 6 Pages a month for Open Trade ; 1 Page a month Con Artist 
• $1,000 - 6 Pages Open Trade ; 1 Page Con Artist; 2 Pages New Comic
• $1,500 - 7 Pages Open Trade ; 2 Page Con Artist; 3 Pages New Comic

I never like phrasing things in terms of money. But in al honestly like a lot of digital artists I do have expenses. Time is also a big factor. I'd like to go full time and just make comics for you all. But growing to this point over the last year has pulled me away from some of my mainstream stuff to make stuff for you. It's also a direction I'm willing to continue to go and dedicate time to as we continue to grow. All up to you. 

So I'm going to put in one last poll below. With the revised tiers. I know this is a lot to read. I hope people do. But you are all open to vote for new tiers. Want your imput.

MISC.

Some other things I thought was interesting or I thought I'd address. 

I've been seeing some push in pull in the larger community on this for a bit. I thought this was super interesting. Con Artist is more of less the combo of 1&3. 

Comments were interesting. Now that it's been a couple days I don't have anything I particularlly feel a need to address. Some that I did want to talk about are indirectly addressed above.
