One of things I've been thinking about lately is trying to figure out when a story is over.

I have a lot of ideas for Gwen, but a point, I can see things being redundant and maybe it's not as fun to watch the same character taking on different changes.

I've been brainstorming other stories, just as stuff pops in my head.

I'm not going to end next month or anything, but I think I see a possible ending over the next few months or so.

I thought it interesting to get your opinions.

Also there is an good possibility that I wrap this up as an arc. And there is a sequel to this story later on. A hard break and restart could give it a boost.

The story is stuck on one plot point...how to get home if Gwen can't access her male assets. There is no increase in tension, just the same plot point seen again and again. It's unfortunate the opportunity to have her outted when she showed "wow, your art is just like..." was cut off. Lots and lots of tension opportunities there. I remain in favor of getting her back home. Picking up her life, her job, or getting her old job back by interviewing and winning it would give many opportunities for tension and liven the story.

yeah, I was thinking of some options along these lines. Which has kinda sparked this poll. Having an ending for this plot point and a new plot point forming in a later installment may be a good option as well.

Yeah, I agree with terry here, get through the meeting with the girlfriend, get her home and wrap up the current story arc. Possibly with a few more transformations in-between!

Definitely depends on the goal of your storytelling. If it is to continue telling the story of our heroine Gwen and the impacts on the remainder on her life, then I'd say keep this going to conclusion. If it is to tell stories of change and transformation, perhaps some new stories would be best.

Both are fun, I think it's easy to lose focus get into the weeds when going into these different details.

A possible compromise would be to keep the established characters, but launch a new story arc. Maybe the traditional ancient Chinese artefact causes Gwen, or her girlfriend, and Print Wall Steve to switch bodies, that sort of thing?

We won't be entirely done with them. I do have plans on coming back and making it a second story. Seems like a cleaner way to work.
