My first convention this year was C2E2, 3 weeks ago. The COVID19 virus was just starting to arrive in the US. There was some concern at the con, but the even went on and was pretty good. I sold a lot of books.

I had this plan that I thought would be nice. To start collecting and sharing some behind the scenes photos from all the various conventions I attend this year. Show some of the stuff that really wouldn't be in the comic. I took some pics, that my phone didn't want to upload. So I've been sitting on them for a bit.

Since that convention, it's been this parade of watching my entire schedule for the year collapse. If things went as planned, I'd be packing up and heading off to Lexington, KY right now. Which is honestly one of my favorite conventions to attend.

Everything in comic con world is chaos. I'm fortunate to have a day job. But a lot of my friends in this space do this full time. Driving from one part of the country to the other every weekend. Now everything has stopped. They are just stuck. Doing nothing. Alot of them are working on way to make up for it.

You will see a lot of people doing commissions online. But there are also writers or sculpters and publishers that lost their income. If you are in a position to support creatives, please do.

Likewise, if you can support anyone like service workers or anyone currently out of the job, you are a hero by helping.

My world got messed up, like a lot of people's, but as long as I can stay healthy all will be ok.

Please stay healthy yourself. Stay strong. Stay home. Support each other.

Interesting to see the "behind the scenes" shots. The place looks pretty similar to the last big comicon I went to, at London's Excel Centre... which is now being converted into a special extra hospital. Difficult times, for sure.

This is a pretty massive convention hall. Some that I go to are much smaller. Glad they are using the place to help people in your neck of the woods.

Can't wait until Cons come back again. The vaccines finally seem to be getting out to people, so maybe, soon ...
